Rotary Egg Beaters

When I see these Rotary Egg Beaters it takes me back to a time when I was only a child helping my mom and grandmother in the kitchen. At first it was mixing up cake mixes with them, looking right over my shoulder. Because let's face it you give a little boy some egg beaters and a chocolate cake mix he will try to spin the handle to mix as fast as he can to see how big of a mess he can make. At least that's how I started out. So then I got to learn how to clean up a big chocolate mess. My mother laughs now but she wasn't laughing then. So you can start your kids in the kitchen as well with rotary egg beaters they have moving parts but nothing to that can hurt them. There is something about a rotary egg beater that is fun for a kid to spin that wheel.

I have a few different brands and types of egg beaters in my drawer but I have to say that my current favorite is the OXO Good Grips Egg Beater. I really like it as well as most of the OXO products. As I got older and moved on from a rotary egg beater to electric mixers and even stand mixers was the one thing left after every recipe. Just like that chocolate cake there is always the cleanup left. But these egg beaters can just be thrown in the dishwasher. Try that with your stand mixer and see what happens. Now these rotary egg beaters are not going to do some of the big heavy jobs as the stand mixers like dough or heavy things like that but for just mixing up a quick cake or some sauce or even an oil dressing why do you need these heavy tools.

Great For Kids

This Egg Beater is Great For Kids for a couple of reasons. One of them is that all the gears are internal. What that means is that some of the older rotary egg beaters gears were exposed and especially girls with long hair would get their hair caught in the gears. This is a problem. Another thing I like about this mixer for kids is that the handles are big and soft like all OXO products so kids can hold onto it easily. The actual beaters are elevated from the frame of the egg beater so if your child is letting the egg beater rest on the bottom of the bowl he or she can still mix away with no problem. So if you want to get your kid started learning in the kitchen the OXO Good Grips Egg Beater is a good mixer before you let them go to the electric mixer.

Other Ways To Get Your Kids In The Kitchen

Other Ways To Get Your Kids In The Kitchen

Mixing things up with a rotary egg beater is just one way to get your kids in the kitchen. There are many others they can help plan meals or shopping trips. They can cut vegetables at first with butter knives until they get the hang of it or even clean fruit like cantaloupes. Or make melon balls with a melon baller. They can fronst cakes, or do anything with a pastry bag. From dong fancy frosting on cakes to putting a vegetable spread you make in your blender onto scones or crackers. The great thing about letting them help out in the kitchen is that the more things they make the more things they will want to eat or at least try.
