Romantic Picnic For Two
A Special Time...
When I think of a picnic, I think of a great romantic day, to spend with that special someone. The trick is that you want your decorations or special place to look as well as it can without spending an arm and a leg for a special night. You can be as festive as you want and go all out for your special someone or have the decorations involve them as well.
I have an old fashioned looking picnic basket that I would have to use, if I was going on a picnic. If everything will fit in a picnic basket, then that is great. You might be able to put the food in portable containers to make it easier to transport. You could also go ahead and fix a divided lunch plate, and have the meal already plated. Wrap the lunch plates in aluminum foil to keep them warm.
It is a good idea to bring a cooler, to your picnic to bring the drinks in, or any food or anything that might require refrigeration. It might be dessert that you need to keep cool.
A picnic could be in a park, with a picnic table, in your back yard, at a friend's house or even in your own kitchen. In this case, bring a red and white checkered table cloth to put on the top of the table. If there aren't going to be any tables at the park where you are going, bring a blanket to sit on.
Depending on the occasion for the picnic, would depend on what food would be served. If you are taking the kids to the park for an afternoon of fun, you might choose to just pick up a bucket of chicken and sides from your favorite chicken restaurant or any of your favorite fast food places. You could just bring all of the paper products that you will need from home, such as cups, napkins, plates, silverware.
If you are serving a meal at your picnic for a very special occasion, you may serve a chilled bottle of wine with your cheese, crackers and fruit. If you bring a bottle of wine, don't forget to bring a wine bottle opener, another great thing to have is a stopper to put in the wine bottle after it's opened. A very nice gesture if it is just the two of you it is very romantic. It adds that extra special touch to let your special someone know they are special.
A Beautiful Picnic Spread
What's the occasion?
Depending on the occasion of the picnic will depend on what food is prepared. This is where you can really get creative,
Food can be anything from tuna salad, chicken salad, pizza, stopping and getting a bucket of chicken with the sides. Bringing drinks from home can save you money instead of buying them from a fast food restaurant.
You can certainly make the food more fancy and bring a fruit salad, as well as a prepared meal such as, chicken fettuccine alfredo. Some prepared bread of your choice wrapped in aluminum foil to keep it warmed until you want to serve it.

Cook time-Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo
I just wanted to make a note that the cook time is for fettuccine. If you were going to make alfredo for your picnic meal, then I would advise adding some grilled cooked chicken to go with the alfredo.

This is a special recipe to me. This is a fruit salad recipe that my grandmother makes quite often. It is a light recipe that has no fat and very little calories and is served cold which is great to eat on a hot summer day at the park.
It is a super easy recipe that can easily be mixed up the day before and stored in the refrigerator.
The following fruits can be used:
1 large can of peach pie filling
1 large can of fruit cocktail
1 large can crushed pineapple
1 large can peaches
Additional fruits that can be used:
Grapes & Bananas
Mix everything together and let it chill overnight before serving.
If you didn't want to make fruit salad for the picnic, then you can always just have different containers of fresh fruit. It would be nice to have different cheeses as well.

Picnic Baskets on Amazon
Also another easy lunch idea for a picnic is to have an assorted meat tray. This meat tray could contain ham, turkey, chicken breast and roast beef, just to name a few. The tray might also contain different cheeses, pickles and little tomatoes.
All you would need to bring would be bread, mayonnaise, pickles, chips, mustard and your drink of choice.
