Salt Water Taffy Recipe

Salt water taffy has been around for ages and many people wonder how it's made. Well today I am going to tell you! I will be showing you how to make molasses taffy and chocolate peppermint taffy with a surprise recipe at the end. They are both incredibly simple to make you only need 3 things for the first recipe. Taffy is something that I really enjoy and always makes my mouth water and now y'all can make taffy from home as well. Keep reading if your interested, vote and comment too! Molasses Taffy Recipe:


1 can of sweetned condensed milk

1/2 cup of molasses

Few grains of salt

3 drops of food coloring (optional)


Add sweetned condensed milk, molasses, salt, and food coloring together in a large heavy pan. Stir over low heat until hard ball forms (test in cold water). Cool on buttered pan. Pull unitl firm, stretch into a long rope and cut into small pieces. Your molasses taffy is done! Enjoy. :)

Chocolate Peppermint Taffy Recipe:


2 squares of unsweetned chocolate

1 can of sweetned condensed milk

2 tablespoons of butter

2 tablespoons of corn syrup

1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract


Melt chocolate in heavy pan. Add milk, butter, and corn syrup. Cook slowly, over low heat, stirring constantly until hard ball forms (test in cold water.) Add peppermint extract. Cool on buttered pan. Pull until firm and again stretch into long rope and cut into pieces.


Bonus Recipe! Oreo Cheesecake Bites:


30 oreo cookies

3 1/2 tablespoons of butter; melted

3 packages of 8 oz. Cream cheese; softened

1 cup of granulated sugar

1 cup of sour cream

1 teaspoon of vanilla

3 large eggs

4 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chips


Preheat oven to 325. Then grab a 9X13 baking pan and line with foil. Gently crush 20 oreo cookies in a bowl and mix in melted butter. Place that mix on the bottom of your baking pan. In a large bowl beat cream cheese and sugar then sowly add vanilla and sour cream. Blend well. Then begin to add the eggs one at a time and beat well. Stir the remaining ten cookies and add to the mix. Pour on top of your first 20 oreos and butter. Then bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Once your cheesecake is done place in refridgerator for an hour and a half. Melt your semi-sweet chocolate chips in the microwave. Then place in a plastic baggie and cut off the tip of a baggie and slowly drizzle over your cheescake. Place in refridgerator until chocolate is hard and cut cheesecake into small bite size pieces and you are ready to go!
