Sarcoa Restaurant & Bar - A Great Place to Meet In Hamilton
Good food and beautiful location
Sarcoa is a new restaurant and bar down at the Harbourfront in Hamilton, Ontario. This area of the Harbour has been in development for the last several years, the location of the Hamilton Bay on Lake Ontario being the perfect place for spending time relaxing with friends to either have a light lunch at Williams and now a more upscale lunch or dinner at Sarcoas. It is about time.
My friend and I arrived at around 1Pm on a beautiful sunny afternoon. The temperature was perfect and so luck was with us in that we were able to dine outside on the beautiful terrace looking out at the sailboats passing by. This restaurant has inside dining which I understand seats about 200. I am not sure about the outside dining, but it was plentiful and what impressed us most was the beautiful cabanas seating easily a dozen people each, lined up along one side of the terrace going down toward the bay. After our lunch we took a stroll further down on to the deck to check these cabanas out and immediately felt like we were somewhere in the Caribbean. Beautiful planters dotted the deck here and there as well as swaying palm plants - adding to the ambiance.
Colourful and comfy cabanas
Now back to the lunch. Both my friend and I started off with Martinis; she with one of those fancy apple or cranberry type martinis and myself with a straight old Gin Martini, Beefeaters, straight up, no Vermouth, but with a drop of Scotch and 3 Olives. All of this I learned from my husband and sometimes habits are hard to break. Then we decided to share, which always gets us more choices. So we chose a Marguerita Pizza - which was very simple, thin crust, tomatoes, a dollop of Mozzarella and a basil leaf on each piece. Very tasty. Then we shared a Vegetable salad which had green beans, cherry tomatoes, greens and strangely enough kernels of fresh corn - in a light creamy dressing. This too was delicious. Finishing off we shared a Peach Cobbler with ice cream and a Cappucino each. The bill - worked out to $41.00 each including the tip. All in all very enjoyable, and I would highly recommend it. It was a wonderful experience and I know we will both be going back again.
