Seared Shrimp in Garlic Butter

  • 1 1/2 lbs medium shrimp in shells
  • 2 Tbsp dry white wine
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp snipped fresh parsley
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/8 tsp salt


  1. If frozen, thaw the shrimp.
  2. Leaving tails intact, peel and devein the shrimp.
  3. Rinse the shrimp under cool running water; pat them dry with paper towels.
  4. In a 12" skillet heat 1 Tbs of the butter over medium high heat until melted. Add the garlic to the skillet, and cook for 30 seconds.
  5. Add the shrimp to the skillet, and cook while stirring for 1-3 minutes or until the shrimp become opaque.
  6. Remove the shrimp from the skillet, and arrange them on a serving platter.
  7. Add the white wine and remaining tablespoon of butter to the skillet. Cook while stirring to loosen any browned bits from the skillet.
  8. Pour the contents of the skillet over your shrimp. Sprinkle the shrimp platter with parsley and salt.
  9. Serve and Enjoy!
