Simple hot cocoa for two

Updated on November 20, 2017

The holidays seem to be the most romantic time of the year, especially Christmas. So why not create a simple date that will create a long lasting memory. All you need is hot cocoa and a roaring fire. And hopefully there will be some snow falling silently outside!

First collect the following:

1: 4 Tablespoons of unsweetened or dark chocolate cocoa powder

2: 2-3 Tablespoons of sugar

3: Pinch of salt

4: 2 Cups of milk, or whatever milk you would like to use. Half and half is another popular choice. I do soy milk because I have an allergy to regular milk and it is wonderful.

5: 1/2 a Teaspoon of vanilla or peppermint flavoring

Next you are going to whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, salt and 2 tablespoons of the milk of your choice. Whisk together on low heat until the powder is dissolved. Next you are going to add in the rest of the milk and turn the heat up to medium high. Heat ingredients and whisk occasionally. After it is steaming add in the vanilla or peppermint flavoring, whisk once more and serve!

Add in some marshmallows if you desire. Add some holiday cheer and make some great memories!
