Simply Dressed: Healthful and Delicious Salad Dressings from Marzetti

Updated on August 31, 2011

Just about any healthy eating program includes recommendations to eat more green salads. However, not everything that you can put on a salad is actually good for you. There are certainly plenty of high-sugar, heavily processed items found on most restaurant salad bars and in supermarkets that you should avoid eating if you’re trying to follow a weight loss or healthy eating program.

Commercial salad dressings are among the worst culprits when it comes to sabotaging the diet-friendly nature of salads. However, not all commercial salad dressings are created equal. There are healthy alternatives that you can enjoy without worrying that you’re “un-doing” the good that you’re trying to accomplish by eating salads frequently. The Simply Dressed line of salad dressings from Marzetti is one of those dressings. This tasty store-bought salad dressing is designed with the needs of those who are concerned with healthful eating in mind.

About Simply Dressed

Simply Dressed is a line of refrigerated salad dressings brought to market by Marzetti, a well-known condiment company with a reputation for making high quality, delicious dressings, dips, sauces and more.

The name Simply Dressed reflects the philosophy that went into developing this segment of the Marzetti salad dressing product mix. Dressings in the Simply Dressed line are made with a minimal number of ingredients, all of which are all-natural. When you top your favorite type of salad with a Simply Dressed dressing, you’ll be adding things to your diet like extra virgin olive oil, canola oil and sea salt – all things you can feel good about eating and serving to your family. What you won’t be adding are preservatives, trans fats, high fructose corn syrup, MSG or artificial flavors – all things that are best avoided anyway.

Simply Dressed Flavor Varieties

No matter what flavor salad dressing you enjoy, there is sure to be at least variety in the Simply Dressed line that you will enjoy. There are ten different types, some of which are traditional flavors that you’d expect to find in any salad dressing line and other that are a bit creative and different.

Flavor options include:

  • Balsamic
  • Blue Cheese
  • Caesar
  • Champagne
  • Coleslaw
  • Ginger Sesame
  • Greek Feta
  • Pomegranate
  • Ranch
  • Strawberry Poppyseed

Ready to Try Simply Dressed?

Are you ready to try Simply Dressed for yourself? Look in the produce section of your favorite supermarket, near other refrigerated dressing, dip and sauce selections. This display area is usually situated beside or close to the bagged lettuce and other salad products. The suggested retail price varies from $3.79 - $4.49 per 12-ounce bottle, though exact pricing may vary by store.

Note: Marzetti provided me with two sample bottles of Simply Dressed dressing for review purposes. The opinions presented here are my own.

Uche - They are fine with any type of salad. I used mine on a green salad and as a dip for cut vegetables and chicken wings.

Do you particularly prepare a certain kind of salad with these?
