Spa Water Recipes
We all know it’s important to drink plenty of water throughout the day, but it isn’t always easy. Though I’m a very healthy eater, drinking water is without a doubt my biggest hurdle. Since my husband and I don’t drink soda or indulge in artificial sweeteners, I have limited options when I’m thirsty.
However, at a trip to the spa last year, I was served some amazing lemon-lime water. I was immediately inspired to recreate the experience. I’ve come up with a host of flavored “spa waters” that are super tasty, easy to prepare, and even better…they make drinking water less of a chore.
Note: For all of the following, feel free to experiment. If you want more or less flavor feel free to add more of a respective ingredient or, of course, more or less water. These are also great with sparkling water instead of flat. There is no way to go wrong! Enjoy!
Cucumber and Rosemary Flavored Water
Peel and slice half of a large cucumber.
Slightly crush 1 branch of Rosemary.
Add both to a large jug of cold water and put in the refridgerator.
Strawberry and Raspberry Water
1 cup of ripe strawberries, halved
½ cup of ripe raspberries
Add both ingredients to a large jug of water and refridgerate.
Lemon and Lime Flavored Water
1 lime, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
Add both ingredients to a large jug of water and refrigerate.
Be sure to roll the lemon and lime before cutting; this will getting the juices flowing.
Citrus and Apple Flavored Water
1 green apple, peeled and seeded
½ orange sliced
½ lemon sliced
Add all ingredients to a large jug of water and refrigerate. Here again, be sure to roll the orange and lemon. I like to add some zest from the orange to the water for a little extra flavor.
Grapefruit and Mint Flavored Water
½ pink grapefruit sliced
1 cup fresh mint leaves (slightly crushed)
Add to a large jug of water and put in the refrigerator.
What flavored waters do you make?
Do you make other flavors of water at home, or have you tried some out and about that I should experiment with myself? I'd love to hear your suggestions! Leave me your thoughts in the comment section.
