Spinach Salad Recipe – As and When You Wish!
Salad is a nutritious and delicious way to health. Green vegetables are full of immensely healthy components like vitamins, minerals and fibers but how ever good they are they are not easy to eat raw. Here salad comes to our help. Salad can be made of a number of raw ingredients that are the most wholesome in their natural state and as they are mixed with other ingredients they become delicious too. Spinach is one such vegetable which is full of nutrition but cannot be eaten as it is; however if it is made into salad, it becomes wonderful in combination with other contents.
Spinach salad can be made in lots of ways. There are conventional ways to make it as well as you can use your creativity and make new salads.
A typical spinach salad contains about 8 cups of spinach leaves cut into pieces, half a cup of green onions chopped, a tomato chopped, a boiled egg chopped and if you prefer, 5 bacon strips too. The bacon strips are to be cooked and crushed. Spinach should be rinsed before cutting to pieces. By mixing all the ingredients with a pinch of salt and a dash of lemon juice, you get a wonderful spinach salad. You can add mushrooms too to this.
Chicken Spinach Salad
You can also make chicken spinach salad for which you will need grilled chicken tenderloins sliced so that you can decorate the salad with it.
This is an ideally tasty and nutritious spinach salad.
- You have to first mix 6 cups of spinach with ¼ cups of crushed peanuts.
- Then add tasty spices like 1 tsp of fresh ginger, crushed garlic, black pepper and lemon juice.
- Also mix in ¼ cup each of soy sauce and rice vinegar and sprinkle over the top after placing the chicken slices.
Sweet and Sour Spinach Salad
If you want a sweet and sour taste to your spinach salad, you have numerous options. Take 6 cups of rinsed and torn spinach leaves and add 1 sliced green apple and 1 cup of finely chopped cherries. Also decorated it with shredded cheese and roasted walnuts. The hot walnuts will melt the cheese a little and give a fantastic look. Mix olive oil and apple cider vinegar in equal amount and sprinkle on the top of the salad and enjoy.
Spinach Salad – Child’s Play
This is an utmost simple way to make spinach salad, which you can teach even to your children so that they can make it in your absence. Mix 6 cups of spinach with 1 garlic clove which should be pressed and sprinkle a mixture of olive oil and lemon juice over it. Also put Parmesan over the top to add a superb flavor.
Spinach, Pumpkin, Bacon Salad
Another combination can be made of spinach with pumpkin, chickpeas and bacon. Here you will need 700 gm of pumpkin which should be peeled and chopped to make pieces of 2 cm, a bunch of spinach, 400 gm chickpeas and 4 bacon rashers along with 1 red onion, ¼ tsp cayenne pepper, 1 garlic clove and ¼ tsp powdered nutmeg. You will have to first cook the pumpkin in salted water so as to make it just soft. Remove all the water. Also cook the bacon rashers in a fry pan over medium flame so as to make them just crisp. Drain these too. In 1-2 tsp olive oil heat the red onion and garlic and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Then add the spinach, nutmeg powder, cayenne pepper and pumpkin and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring in between. Add chickpeas and crumbled fetta too and after some time remove from flame. Top with bacon rashers and serve. This is an unusually delicious spinach salad recipe.
