A healthy treat with spinach

Spinach sauce

Leafy green vegetables like spinach along with its delicate texture and jade green color provide more nutrients than any other food can provide.Nutritional value of spinach is as follows It is an excellent source of vitamin K, vitamin A, manganese, folate, magnesium, iron, vitamin C, vitamin B2, calcium, potassium, and vitamin B6. It is rich source of dietary fiber, copper, protein, phosphorus, zinc and vitamin E.along with these it is a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, niacin and selenium too.

Here is a recipe of a yummy treat for everyone with spinach .


  • 1 kg spinch leaves blanched squeezed dry and chopped
  • 1 cup sliced onions
  • 4 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon butter 250 grams freshly cooked noodles ,pasta or potatoes freshly grated cheese for garnishing


Heat the butter in the pan and add sliced onions and saute' till transparent ,now add garlic and saute' again for a minute .Add spinach and stir fry untill bright green ,remove from fire and cool it , next blend to paste using little water to thin if required ,reheat and then add noodles,pasta or potatoes (you may use pre fried baby corns if you wish they too taste great )stir properly so it is well cotted and serve warm with grated cheese over it andif you wish you may add a dash of fresh cream too .

Children will love to have with all the favourites(nodles pastas and potates or baby corns) in the spinach sauce .
