Starbucks Coffee Franchise and Cost in the Philippines

Updated on February 14, 2014

Starbucks franchise cost and its subsidiary SB coffee are in this hub. If you wanna franchise Starbucks Coffee you gotta read these facts.

Every coffee lover could have thanked the Lord for whoever founded Starbucks. Just imagine if you’d never have taken the pleasure to savor the aroma of their best brewed coffee and espresso or who could save your day without those cold blended frappuccino and choco smoothies. For chocolates and coffee’s sake, Starbucks will always be a part of our daily moments.

I cant franchise Starbucks
I cant franchise Starbucks

What if you woke up one day and you crave to have your own Starbucks Coffee shop? Don’t toss and turn anymore, sit up as comfy as you can while you hold that bottle of dark chocolate mocha frappe and read the details below about how to franchise Starbucks coffee and how much will it cost.

How to franchise Starbucks Coffee?

Ok, don’t choke up when you hear this: Starbucks does not franchise operations and has no plans to franchise in the foreseeable future. However, if you really are determined, you can have a Starbucks licensed store. Applying for a licensed store is a strict process just like franchising. Starbucks will assess you methodically whether a Starbucks coffee shop will be a good fit for your retail or food service location. Anyway, Starbucks offers franchise opportunities with their subsidiary, Seattle’s Best Coffee to qualified and selected applicants. If you want to franchise Seattle’s Best coffee shop, you must have a net worth of at least $1 million and liquidity of $250,000, have translatable business experience and/or ownership skills related to the operation of a coffee franchise and must be able to operate multiple locations. Whoa!

To apply for a Starbucks licensed store, go to this link.

Opening Starbucks in the Philippines

The Rustan’s Group, a very wealthy company here, is the one which is responsible for all the activities of Starbucks coffee shops in Philippines. If you wanna acquire a Starbucks outlet in the Philippines, you have to negotiate with them. Buying an outlet may range from $300,000 to $400,000 and you have to sign and comply a memorandum of understanding with them.

Before you consider the idea of franchising, I recommend knowing the advantages and disadvantages of franchising a business so you can decide if you’re gonna push to franchise or not to franchise.

Hello. I've been doing some research for the past year in regards to a Starbucks franchise U.S, and it seems that there is no hope to possibly open a few stores in my area. If you can somehow assist me with some information to perhaps try to work with Starbucks Philippines to open a store using its franchise or license, I would greatly appreciate. My email address is:

Hi blaise - I pretty much knew about the Starbucks franchise. They have rowed back on a few restaurant developments in the last year. I am very fond of Starbucks. I met a romantic date in one on one occasion. :)

Ha, I am smiling here, yes the weather here is perfect for coffee lovers. (How do the Italians manage in warm Rome? Hmm, will ask Cassy.) MC Donalds sounds a big deal. Too much junk for me - maybe customers don't care, the McD's here are packed these days. Maybe I am missing something. Food! That's it!! I knew there was something I forgot. LMAO.

I am always happy to be here, blaise. Yes, the xx's will follow, but if you prefer not, just say.

WHAT! LEAK!!?? OMg, did Cassy say anything? LOL. Trust her. Okay, I am just finished this evening, I will send you it soon, okay? So much for surprise. I will plan my revenge tonight. Hahaha. Take care.

Starbucks is a great formula for success. They grew too fast the the last 2 years, and have had to close some cafes, more is the pity. I was told last year a Starbucks cafe for me was out of the question.

I am still continuing with my plan to get a cafe franchise, it is license to print money. MacDonalds are posting more profits than usual in some parts of the world. People don't eat and drink less in a recession.

This is a great hub. Your timing is just great, blaise. Thank you for this great hub! I have to rate you up. :) xx

Hello Telltale :) No one can franchise Starbucks Coffee because they only grant licensed stores to qualified individuals to sell their products. Means you earn a percentage of their products' sales revenue, depends upon your MOU with them. However, you can purchase Starbucks stocks, that way, in some point you can own rights and power when you have acquired majority of shares. :) Very good investment ;) The link below has the complete details on how to invest to Starbucks.

Hi Prof. A! :) I think Starbucks is experimenting with their subsidiary (Seattle's Best). BTW, SB coffee is available to franchise. There's nothing quite different, so why not franchise SB..Starbucks and SB anywayz belong to one big company--Starbucks Corporation ;) I never knew that until I made this hub LOL

      Louisiana folk love their expressos and a thoughtfuly placed Seattle's Best might even do better than an Starbucks,since,as I detect there might be an adversion to what people might see as fast food coffee,thanks for the heads up twentyfive;

I think Starbucks is already franchised here in Malaysia and Singapore - but the Franchisor is not Starbucks US, may probably be someone or company who had purchased the entire rights for Starbucks in this region.
