Summer Coffee

Updated on June 19, 2013

As a coffee lover, I always got a little sad when summer rolled around, because hot coffee on a hot morning just doesn't mix. I could go to a coffee place and buy something, but I've always found it to be a waste of money when I have great coffee at home. Putting ice cubes in my coffee was about as creative as I had gotten at that point, which is gross, but now I have evolved and found some fun ways to make great iced coffee at home!

Coffee Cubes

Why didn't I think of this before? If I want my coffee cold, I should add ice, right?

Take fresh coffee and pour into an ice cube tray.

Freeze.

Pour over milk and voila! Perfect iced coffee that is NOT watery!

So What if I Don't Have Time to Freeze it?

Freezing coffee has to be something pre-meditated, but often I am so incredibly busy that I just don't remember to make it, and then in the morning I'm back at square one....UNTIL the other day when I bought one of those water bottles that comes with its own chill stick.

Keep the stick chilled in the freezer. (I bought several)

And in the morning, pour your coffee and let the chilling commence!

For When I Have Too Much Time

This last chilly beverage is simple. All you need is a blender, some ice, your favorite coffee and creamer/sugar how you like it.

Can you say frappaccino?

I love this! It's just as good as starbucks, and so very simple!

Haha I know about that stuff! I've heard about that coffee before. I've always been skeptical about actually trying it though.

Hello there! Welcome to HP! Sit down and have your coffee (: I do my own frappuccino too the way you mentioned here. I'm frugal that way but I enjoyed it, just like I enjoyed reading your hub. Short but sweet! Have you tried the coffee made of cat poop? If not, come visit my hub and you'll know what I mean. Cheers!
