Get ready for the Heat with these great drinks

As Summer is fast approaching, I found myself searching through my many different cocktail recipes to get ready for summer partying. My group of friends have a good time mixing up old drinks with new and different ingredients. One of our favorites we have been experimenting with recently are drinks featuring Mangria. For those of you not familiar with Mangria, it is a great wine drink with an extra punch that will knock you out fast. You have to be careful with this stuff!!

Pick yourself up some Mangria and have some fun!!



1 oz. Mangria

1 oz. gin

1 oz. lemon juice

½ oz. peach schnapps

½ oz. simple syrup (recipe below)


Simple syrup: combine equal parts water and sugar, heat until sugar is dissolved.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and combine all ingredients. Shake and strain into a glass.

The Summer Man


1½ oz. Don Julio Blanco Tequila

1½ oz. Mangria

½ oz. agave nectar

½ oz. lime juice

2 oz. grapefruit soda

lime wedge


In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine all ingredients except grapefruit soda. Shake and strain into a glass. Pour grapefruit soda on top. Garnish with lime wedge.

The Summer Bomb


2 oz. white peach pear Mangria

1 oz. Captains Morgans Spiced Run

½ oz. pineapple juice

½ oz. vanilla extract

lime wedge

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine all ingredients. Shake and strain into a glass. Garnish with lime wedge.



2 oz orange juice

White Peach Pear Mangria


Pour orange juice into a glass over a couple ice cubes. Top with White Peach Pear mangria, gently stir and garnish with mint leaf.

The Knock-out


1-750ml bottle of Captain Morgans Silver Rum

1/2 bottle Mangria

6 ounces triple sec liqueur

6 ounces simple syrup (recipe below)

6 ounces lime juice

2-3 sliced limes

2-3 sliced oranges


Simple syrup: combine equal parts water and sugar, heat until sugar is dissolved.

Combine all ingredients into a large bowl. Refrigerate for at least three hours before serving.
