Sweet Apple Pie
Precook Apples
1/2 cup Of Butter
8 Large Tart Apples Peeled,Cored and Sliced in to 1/4 inch slices
4 tsp Cornstarch
1 cup of Cold Water
1 Cup of Brown Sugar
1 tsp Ground Cinnamon.
Melt butter in medium saucepan and add the apples and cook for 6-7 minutes until tender. Dissolve the cornstarch in water and add to the apples. Add sugar and cinnamon and Boil for 2 minutes stirring occassionally and then remove from heat. Pour into a prepared pie crust and place the top on and allow to bake for 45 minutes on 350 degree's.
Pie Crust
Pie Crust recipe:
3 cups of flour
1 1/4 tsp salt
6 tbsp ice water
1 tbsp sugar
1 cup shortening
Mix dry ingredients and set aside 1/2 cup of the dry mix. Add the ice water and mix until smooth. Add the shortening to the dry mixture and cut in and then add the water mixture. Mix all together. Wrap and place in the refrigerator and allow to chill for one hour and then roll onto a floured surface and place into the pie pan and cut off the access. Do this with top and bottom and then bake.
