Mutton Rib Curry


Mutton Ribs:250gms

Curd(Yoghurt):1/4 cup

Zeera powder:1/2 tsp

Coriander pewder:1/2 tsp

Red Chilli powder(degi mirch):1tsp

Bay leaf:1


Black cardamom(moti elaichi):1


Garlic paste:1tsp

Ginger paste:1tsp

Onion:1 medium size(grated or grounded)

Green chillies(crushed):2

Ghee:4 tbsp

Salt to taste

Onion:1 medium sized(thinly sliced)


Mix mutton with all the ingredients and add water about 1/4 cup in a pressure cooker for about two whistles.

Remove the lid and take out the mutton pieces from the liquid gravy.

Now strain the liquid gravy in a muslin cloth to extract maximum flavour.

Heat ghee in a pressure cooker and add the sliced onions and fry till golden brown.

Grind the fried onions to a paste and if required a little water can be added to it.

Now add the mutton pieces in the ghee and fry till it acquires brown fried coloured.

Add onion paste,salt,green chillies and the strained liquid.

Pressure cook initially for 7 minutes on high heat then on low heat for 5 minutes.

Remove the lid and if the gravy remains then cook till it dries.
