Recipe for Alfredo Pizza
Easy Pizza Recipe
Usually when I make a pizza, I do the sauce and dough from scratch, but last night I was in a hurry. We made the obvious decision of a Portland Pie dough. If you live in Maine, it is a sin to use any other store bought dough. We went with basil this time. We got one for a pizza and one for bread sticks. We decided to go with alfredo, and picked up sauce from Culinary Circle. We already had frozen broccoli in the fridge, but we wanted chicken sausage. Mozzarella cheese was the final ingredient and we headed home.
The first thing I did was stretch out both doughs. I cut one of them into even strips and spread melty butter on them. Then I added some herbs (basil, garlic, etc) and parmesean. I spread the alfredo sauce over the one meant to be a pizza, then added mozzarella, (warmed up) broccoli, and (cut up and fried in herbs) chicken sausage. I baked both things for about 10 minutes, took out the bread sticks, and let the pizza have a few more minutes. The time and temperature of baking really all depends on what kind of dough you are using. While it was baking, I heated up the leftover alfredo sauce to use for dipping the bread sticks in. Everyone was happy, ages 4-25!
