The 6 Best Baking Blogs on the Interweb.

Updated on December 31, 2014

Introduction.

No matter what type of baker you are- beginner, home, or professional- you will still undoubtedly find yourself in need of baking inspiration, from time to time. That's where baking blogs come in, published by kindred bakers, they are humming hives of different baking ideas, and fresh approaches to time-honored classics. There are a such large variety of baking blogs to choose from. For instance, you could opt for more 'fancy' baking blogs that contain detailed tutorials for making elaborate multi-tiered cakes, and recipes for delicate candies or heavenly custards. Or if you're more of a fan of 'simple, but oh-so-good' treats, then baking blogs created by home bakers, might be much more you're style. Although you might find one or two 'fancy' treats on a home baker's blog, the main content will consist of scrumptious monster cookies, and creative brownie options. So whether you prefer your sweet treats to be ornate, or homely, you can be sure that there will be a baking blog on this countdown, that will suit your baking needs.

1. Sweetapolita.- Created by Rosie Alyea.

This adorable and detailed blog, is my go-to when I'm looking for impressive new baking ideas, or when I just want to marvel at the blogger's incredible creations. Created by blogger Rosie Alyea, her cute, pastel-tinted blog is mainly devoted to cakes; of all shapes and sizes. The main type of cake showcased on her blog are tall and multi-layered, with all sorts of decadent flavors. Such as Strawberry and Lavender Buttermilk, 6-layer Neapolitan Macaron Delight, and Midnight Pumpkin. The cakes are also marvelously decorated with ombre frosting, mini meringues, fondant, and lots of sprinkles. Although, if these cakes sound a little too adventurous for you, never fear, for Sweetapolita still has plenty of recipes available for much simpler cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and candy. Some personal favorites are the Marzipan and Pear Cupcakes with Caramel Buttercream, the Pink Champagne Cake Pops, and the Easter Extravaganza Bark. Not to mention, Alyea's writing style is fluid, relatable, and just as sweet as her treats!
