Watermelon by its Wikipedia definition is the large melonlike fruit of a plant of the gourd family, with smooth green skin, red pulp, and watery juice. It’s a vine-like watering plant originally from South Africa with a Scientific name of Citrullus lanatus. Not only that watermelon is people’s great choice during summer season, it also becomes the wide choice to put in a fruit platter during parties. Most people like watermelon because of its sweet juice it can offer. Its delectable taste and its crunchiness leave people wanting more of the fruit.

Almost all of the fruits contains Vitamin C and there is no doubt that when a mom encourage her children to eat watermelon, it is to make sure that her children aren’t lacking of Vitamin C.

      Interesting..... I love watermelon sprinkled with "tajin", a powdered mixture of lemon, salt and chili pepper, it brings out its sweet juicy flavor. I knew it has a low GI and good fiber but I wasn´t aware of all its benefits. Now I´ll enjoy it even more.

      I didn't know all of this about watermelon. But it's good information, especially it helping to fight infection and cancer. And not to mention it's a nice refreshing alternative to soda or sugary juices and drinks. Solid hub!
