The way to start the day is by having a high protein breakfast because protein adds energy and fuels the body after a long night's rest. Here are a few high protein items that is a good way to start the day.
Protein shakes and smoothies are something that are very easy to make using a protein powder some ice milk your choice of fruit or what ever you have in your refrigerator, and if you want to make it super healthy you can add some flaxseed that would give you that omega 3 fatty acids even a little bit of fiber and if you want to add a little bit of crunch to it you can add a little granola to the top of it.
Another good choice to me are eggs ....I know they have got a bad rap in the past about them having a high fat content. But only a portion of their fat comes from saturated fat and studies show that eggs may actually help lower your cholesterol level but there are other factors eggs have carotenoids that are essential for healthy eyes, they also say lutein a carotenoid that is found in eggs is believed to reduce the risk of cataracts, and there is so many ways to cook eggs if your on the go just boil them the night before them take them with you when you leave in the morning or you can scramble them or scramble the egg whites even a omelet could be the fix.
And if your a vegetarian you have to eat a good healthy breakfast and one way to do that is buy using a soy product that you can find in you local grocery store here you will find breakfast sandwiches and sausages that will allow you to get that high protein you need to start your day
I really think we need to realize that breakfast is very important to us and it should not be skipped even if you need to get up a little bit earlier or make it the night before doing this is the start to better health and eating breakfast is the best way to start your day and in this article I will share with you ways to start of your day with a healthy but good breakfast.

Did you eat a good breakfast this morning ....Well if you did not let me tell you eating your first meal of the day really has great health benefits. We all know that that it is important to eat a healthy breakfast no matter who you are a child, college student, and even busy parents.
Breakfast is the first meal you are suppose to eat each and everyday and should be consumed at least 8 to10 hours after your last meal without you eating any foods the night before. By eating breakfast it makes your body get a higher nutrient intake and it still is a great way to start off your day.
Studies have confirm that Parents and college age students have admitted to skipping breakfast that number is about 31 million skipping this first meal and to me hat is outrageous and according to National Eating Trends the ages for this breakfast skippers are between 18 and 34 to me that is a very large population of people skipping breakfast.
Today with every body schedules so much busier these days it is harder than getting your day started with a healthy breakfast but there are ways to get it in. More on to go people are opting for easy options for eating a good breakfast while they are on the go, going to work or heading to school this is what I call take it with you foods.
What I call take me with you foods are foods that you can grab and go like a drinkable breakfast shake tat does not need refrigeration and this drink would work with anybody that are on the go or does not like to prepare breakfast even jar fruit and protein bars are a great way to put some nutrients in your body to fuel it in the morning.
The bottom line to me that I think everyone should know is that you need to eat a good healthy breakfast because if you don't it could be a unhealthy factors that could harm the body even leading to some sort of disease I'm saying this because starting your day on a empty stomach can cause all sorts of problems, It is very important for your health have a meal and not let you stomach and your body start the day without breakfast it's going to start with something very simple like a mild case of gastritis then move onto more and worse health issues if you don't eat a healthy breakfast.

When I was growing up I use to hear my mother saying that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and now there really is research to support the benefits of breakfast and what it can do for you and your over all health. Breakfast consumers during a recent poll states that people who consume breakfast daily had a 20 percent lower risk of developing obesity and 19 percent lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes and this was also supported by the University of Minnesota School of Public Health.
They also went on to confirm that eating a healthy breakfast can make you healthier even people ages 20 to 39 who regularly had breakfast had lower cholesterol levels and were less likely to have high blood pressure when compare to breakfast skippers this was also confirmed by a study done by the Nutrition Society in early 2012. So with these facts I think it is safe to say that it is very important to get you and your family to have breakfast no matter if they are grade schoolers or college students to seniors eating breakfast is very important.

if your a person that is totally on the go then or you just don't have time to fix break then a breakfast smoothie is a perfect way to get your day started and add a little fuel to your furnace.
A breakfast smoothie is just a simple way to add a healthy meal inside your body each and everyday and there are so many ways to make them and so many flavor combinations that you can always have a good selections of flavors and one of the best thinks about a smoothie is that you can make it the night before then it will be ready when you get up in the morning so the next time you get up make a smoothie first and not he morning cup of coffee ....your body will thank you later.
making this grapefruit smoothie is super simple and the taste is very good it gives you that balance of sweet and sour but when I'm making it for my kids I add a little bit more of honey to kill the tartness in the smoothie.
1 ruby red grapefruit
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 ripe banana, peeled
1/2 cup of Greek yogurt
1/2 cup of orange juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons of honey
1/3 teaspoon of sugar
To begin cut the grapefruit in half then cut off the rind of the grapefruit so you can see the pink flesh. Using that as a guide trim away the skin and the white pith until you have a naked grapefruit when that is done slice the grapefruit in to small pieces Place the grapefruit into a blender along with remaining ingredients. As adults we all need to make sure we eat a healthy breakfast but if you have kids it is very important that you teach them the importance of eating and eating the right way kids need to eat right so there bodies can perform at it best because there growing bodies are still developing and this will rely on the foods that they eat, keep in mind if they go without eating breakfast or skipping meals for a long period of time this can result in a lot of physical hardships in the future.
Now I know it is hard to get kids to eat sometimes and if you put the word healthy to it they are really running away so sometimes you have to trick them into eating healthy without them knowing that it is healthy and after doing some research I found a recipe by Ellie Krieger that I thought was a perfect way to start the day for kids and it's called breakfast cookies, these cookies are packed with everything that a good breakfast requires and the best thing is that they are tasty healthy and kids will love them and so will you, but I will say that Ellie makes a pretty good cookie but I did make it to suit my family taste buds and you can do the same to.
- 3/4 cups whole-wheat pastry flour, Sifted
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, Sifted
- 1/2 teaspoon teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 medium egg
- 1 small jar carrot baby food, strained
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup bran cereal flakes
- 1/3 cup raisins
- 1/3 cup toasted pecans
- Place rack in center of oven and preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grab out your cookie sheet a wire cooling rack and your stand mixer
- Whisk together flours, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a medium-sized bowl. Combine butter, oil and sugars in the bowl of a stand mixer and mix on high speed, scraping down sides if necessary, until sugars have dissolved and mixture is light in color, about 1 minute. Add egg, carrot baby food and vanilla flavoring and beat an additional 30 seconds. Add flour mixture and beat an additional 30 seconds. Add oats, flakes, raisins and pecans and mix over low speed just until incorporated.
- The dough will be slightly sticky and less cohesive than traditional cookie dough. Line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper. Using between 3 to 4 tablespoons of batter, form a ball and place on cookie sheet. Repeat with remaining batter, leaving about 3 inches between cookies. Wet hands and use palm of hand to flatten cookies until about 1/4-inch thick. Bake for 12 minutes, until cookies are fragrant but still soft. Let cookies cool slightly, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Since the beginning of this article I have talked about the importance of eating a good breakfast and we all know that research tells us that skipping breakfast meals can start many unhealthy things like controlling your weight and eating more, there are several studies that suggest that you cut down on calories and try to maintain a healthy eating and that you must educate your family of the importance of a well balance meal and maintaining good health and to help stop obesity in adults and children.

Studies show that overweight and obese children, adolescents, and adults are less likely to break the fast each morning than their thinner counterparts so before I end this blog I want to share with you a breakfast quiche recipe that is quick and easy to make and the good thing is you can make it the night before then place it in the oven when you first get up a grab some before you walk out the door it might even get the rest of the family out of bed a few minutes earlier to get a quick bite.
10 slices of bacon
5 ounces of swiss cheese - shredded
3 tablespoons of butter - melted
4 medium eggs
1/4 cup of finely chopped yellow onion
1 teaspoon of sea salt
1/3 teaspoon of white pepper
1/2 cup of all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups of milk
Pre - heat your oven to 350 degrees
Lightly grease a 9 inch pie pan or baking dish
Using a large deep skillet cook your bacon over a medium high heat until your bacon is evenly brown....Remove to a paper towel, when cooled then crumble and set aside.
Using your greased pie pan or baking dish line the bottom with your swiss cheese and crumbled bacon then combine your eggs, butter, onion, sea salt, white pepper, flour and milk. Whisk together until very smooth pour into your pie pan or baking grease over top of the swiss cheese and crumbled bacon and bake for 35 minutes until set. serve and enjoy.
