The Best Banana Smoothies Ever
Banana Smoothies Are Oh So Delicious
When I was a very young child my Grandfather ran a store and he bought his bananas on the stalk. And at that time I thought it was one of the most amazing things I had ever seen. It was not until many years later that I was able to visit a banana plantation in Guatemala. You no longer find bananas being sold on the stalk in the United States.
Many Americans especially those of us born in the American south have had a lifelong love affair with bananas. Many of us grew up eating banana sandwiches and banana pudding. I think I had the very first banana smoothie I ever tasted at a little fruit stand in Bangkok Thailand in the late 1960s. And I was hooked. I remember coming back here to North Carolina and making banana smoothies for my Mom and Grandma. Why had no one thought of making banana smoothies here in the states I don't know.
I remember we started making banana smoothies and before long we were making smoothies out of almost every fruit you could possibly think of. I think it was that summer that I had my first blackberry smoothie. Incidentally I still make blackberry smoothies and they are delicious. You can make excellent smoothies from blackberries or strawberries.
But here were talking about banana smoothies. So lets get on with it. Bananas that have brown flecks on the skin will make the best banana smoothies. You can lay them up for a few days and they will eventually ripen to that point.
Ingredients For The Best Banana Smoothies Ever
1. Four Bananas With Brown Flecks On The Skin.
2. Six Cups Crushed Ice.
3. Two Cups Plain Yogurt.
4. Two Tablespoons Honey.
Depending on the size of the glass this will make several banana smoothies. I usually serve mine in red solo cups. This makes a thick banana smoothie that I really love. If you want a richer high protein banana smoothie add two tablespoons of almond butter which is just like peanut butter only its made out of almonds instead of peanuts. And almond butter is really rich in vitamin E.
Bananas with brown flecks on the skin will always make more flavorful smoothies. It is at this point that bananas have the most and best flavor.
Banana Mango Smoothie
Here's a really wonderful recipe that I really love. To make this one you want to take two ripe bananas and cut them into slices. Freeze the banana slices hard in your freezer. Lay them out on a tray or plate so they don't freeze together. Frozen bananas make excellent smoothies.
Banana Mango Smoothie Ingredients
1. Two Frozen Bananas In Small Pieces.
2. One Ripe Mango Peeled And Cut Away From The Seed In Small Pieces And Almost Frozen.
3. One Cup Very Cold Pineapple Juice.
You want your pieces of banana to be frozen and your mango to be almost frozen. Add your ingredients to your blender and blend on high until very well mixed. You'll have a Banana Mango Smoothie that will be very cold and thick. If your having this smoothie to replace a meal with add two tablespoons of almond butter to the mixture for a wonderful delicious flavor that you won't soon forget. To me with the almond butter this is one of if not the best smoothie that I have ever had. Yes it really is that good.
How About A Banana Split Smoothie
If you want to surprise some people especially kids make them this delicious banana split smoothie that they are sure to enjoy.And yes it really does taste exactly like a delicious banana split. Wait to add in your ice until everything else has been blended in your blender and then blend in the ice for the best results.
Banana Split Smoothie Ingredients
1. Two Diced Up Ripe Bananas.
2. One Half Cup Vanilla Yogurt.
3. One Fourth Cup Chocolate Syrup.
4. Ten Maraschino Cherries.
5. Two Tablespoons Chocolate Chips.
6. Three Cups Crushed Ice.
As I said above start off by adding all your ingredients to the blender but your ice and blend well. Add your crushed ice in last and blend it very well. Here your going to end up with a rich delicious smoothie that is really going to surprise people when they taste it. And once they taste it they are going to want more. When I serve this smoothie to most people I add a topping of cool whip and a maraschino cherry to the top and people go crazy over them. And yes even this banana split smoothie is good for you and would make an excellent meal replacement.
Bananas And Peanut Butter Are The Perfect Flavor Combination
Here is another smoothie that I just simply love. Here were going to combine the wonderful flavors of banana, peanut butter, and plain yogurt into one of the most delicious smoothies that you'll ever eat. I suggest using Jiffy Creamy Peanut Butter for this smoothie as I think it has the best flavor.
Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie Ingredients
1. You Want Two Bananas Sliced And Frozen Hard.
2. One Six Ounce Carton Vanilla Yogurt.
3. One Third Cup Creamy Peanut Butter.
4. One Half Cup Whole Milk.
You want to add all your ingredients to your blender and blend until everything is very smooth. You now have one of the most delicious smoothies that you'll ever drink. And yes it is oh so delicious. If you like peanut butter I guarantee you that your going to love this oh so delicious smoothie. It has such a wonderful flavor.
How About A Delicious Banana Berry Smoothie
Here you have a smoothie that is really delicious and it's also very good for you. Strawberries are just simply filled with antioxidants. Here you have a tropical taste that is cool and refreshing and also one of the most delicious smoothies that you will ever drink.

1. One Half Cup Cut Up Frozen Strawberries.
2. Two Large Cut Up Bananas.
3. One Cup Pina Colada Mix.
4. One Half Cup Vanilla Yogurt.
5. Three Cups Crushed Ice.
Mix all your ingredients in the blender and blend well until everything is very well blended and mixed together.
To me this is one of if not the best smoothie there is. You have to top this smoothie with cool whip and a sliced strawberry. Once people taste it they are going to say wow. And in case you don't already know strawberries are one of the healthiest things to eat on earth. They really are that good for you.
Berry Berry Banana Smoothie
Here is one of the healthiest smoothies you could ever make and drink. It's called a Berry Berry Banana Smoothie and its just simply packed with delicious flavor and all kinds of healthy benefits. Berries are filled with all kinds of healthy antioxidants that can do everything from boost your immune system to prevent cancer.
Berry Berry Banana Smoothie Ingredients
1. One Half Cup Frozen Diced Up Strawberries.
2. One Half Cup Blackberries.
3. One Half Cup Blueberries.
4. One Half Cup Raspberries.
5. One Cup Vanilla Yogurt.
6. Two Cups Crushed Ice.
7. Two Large Cut Up Bananas.
Add all your other ingredients and blend them well before you add in the ice. Make the ice the last thing you add into your blender. Blend everything together well and your going to come up with one of the most delicious smoothies that your ever going to drink. If you can't find one of the berries in your local market or grocery store that's okay. Just leave it out. A lot of the people that I have made this smoothie for say it's the best smoothie they have ever tasted. You can garnish the top of this smoothie with a few fresh berries and a couple of slices of banana. Some people like to top this smoothie with whip topping. If you'll check the nutrition facts for cool whip topping you'll find it's very low in calories.
This makes an excellent and delicious smoothie with a lot of flavor.
Peach And Banana Smoothie
Here you have a smoothie made out of frozen bananas and fresh peaches. You want to peel your peach and cut the flesh up in small pieces and discard the peach pit or seed.
Peach And Banana Smoothie Ingredients
1. One Large Peach Peeled And Chopped Up.
2. Two Large Frozen Bananas Sliced And Frozen.
3. One Six Ounce Carton Vanilla Yogurt.
You want to peel your bananas and slice them into small pieces. Then freeze your bananas.
Add all your ingredients to the blender and blend very well together. Your bananas need to be hard frozen or your smoothie will not be cold enough or thick enough.
You can if you want to make this smoothie out of canned peaches but you'll never get the flavor of a fresh peach out of a canned peach.
