The Best Mexican Food If You Are Visiting Utah
What is your favorite Utah Mexican food place to eat?
Cafe Rio- A Utah Taste Original
At the top of the list will always, at least for me, be Cafe Rio. This place is fabulous. Everything is fresh and your order is made while you go through a cafeteria style line.
They make 3 great items.
The pork or chicken salad is superb and the house dressing is something you will lick the container clean.
The pork tacos are huge and tasty. And the sweet style taste will keep you wanting to come back for more.
And finally the chicken burrito enchilada style is smothered and toasted with cheese on top and can be accompanied by all kinds of sides.
For a larger group get and order of chips and queso, this is by far one of the best queso I have ever had. I can eat it with a spoon.
To date there are a lot of Cafe Rios all over the state so you wont have to go very far to taste this great food.
Lone Star Taqueria
If you have a hankering for good fish tacos then this is the place. They make some of the best I ever tasted and they are right here in Utah.
They are huge and two is enough to fill you up. The also have some Lone Star nachos that are awesome. So make sure you get their early before the run out of the good fish and you will be well satisfied.
The tacos are super cheap for what you get and you can even get some Mexican Coca Cola.
The Red Iguana
If you want some traditional yet awesome Mexican food the head to Salt Lake downtown and try some food at the Red Iguana. I recommend the enchiladas and any of the Mole dishes.
Pretty much everything is very good and the wait may be long but not to fear they have the same restaurant across the street. It is worth the wait and is great for a get together where everyone can share. This is a place you have to try.
This is the same kind of food as Cafe Rio but it is just not quite as good. It comes from the same style of fresh food made right in front of you.
Like Cafe Rio they use and make fresh tortillas right on the spot.
This is also a kind of restaurant like Cafe Rio and worth it. They have the Bajio nachos that are really good and you can custom make a burrito or salad bowl that is tasty.
This is where you go from some gut bomb Mexican food. They make a bunch of huge burritos that are inexpensive and tasty.
The breakfast burrito is a favorite anytime and the Carne Asada is a lot of meat and in a huge tortilla. Open all night you can get your fix anytime.
Other Good Places for Mexican Food
Not quite as good as the others on the list but still worth a look if you are in the area:
