The Burger Blog: From This Chef's Kitchen to Yours

Updated on July 10, 2016

Burgers

Ah- grilling meat, America's other other favorite pastime! Here I will be sharing with you some of my favorite Burger recipes that are fairly simple to make at home- and that I had prepared personally at a BBQ joint in Kansas City.

The Gouda Pretzel Burger

What you will need:

  • 6 oz of ground beef per patty/ person
  • Gouda Cheese
  • Milk
  • Large Soft Pretzels (you can find them in boxes of 4 at Walmart in the frozen section)
  • Bacon
  • Sesame Seed Bun

Preparation

Heat desired amount of milk in a saucepan, add enough gouda cheese for it to be a nice molasses type texture. Cook the bacon. Toss your pretzels in the oven at 325 for about 10 minutes. Portion out your patties at 6 oz each and cook to desired temperature. Get your Patties on those buns and then add the pretzel, then bacon, then the melted gouda for a delicious cheesy Burger!

Inside Out Burger

This is one of my all time favorites because I absolutely LOVE Bleu cheese. You will need:

  • Bleu cheese crumbles
  • 8 oz of ground beef per patty, cut into two halves
  • Bacon
  • Lettuce/ tomato/ mustard/ ketchup

Oozy Deliciousness!

Divide 8 oz portion into 4 oz portion, flatten 4 oz portion into 1/2 inch tall patty. Stack desired amount of Bleu Cheese in the middle, and mold a burger patty from both halves. Grill to desired temperature (Will take longer!) Top with bacon and desired condiments!

Breakfast Burger

I love having breakfast for dinner, this is a great mashup of some of my favorite breakfast items, with a delicious beef patty. You will need:

  • Preferably soft, Sourdough buns.
  • 6 oz beef portion per burger
  • Bacon
  • Hashbrowns
  • Egg (fried)

Brinner (breakfast for Dinner)!

Start off by cooking your bacon to the desired crispness. Cook up your hash browns in a sauté pan with a little oil (about a handful of hash browns per burger is good.) Throw your patties on the grill and cook to desired temperature. Fry your eggs in a sauté pan with vegetable oil. And voila! Breakfast for dinner! Enjoy!

More to come!

I have many more burger ideas to share, this will be an ongoing post. Make sure to check back for more delicious burgers!
