Here is a video that I made for you

This is the original "The French Chef Omelet Pan" designed by Julia Child herself. The black handle one is very rare and was made for only two years.

Here is what the bottom of the pan looks like. It actually says "The French Chef Omelet" and "MFG. By The Pot Shop Boston 16' MASS."

The French Chef Omelette Pan

This is the original "The French Chef Omelette Pan" originally designed by Julia Child herself! It is still made today, although with a slightly different design, by The Pot Shop of Boston, MA. The pan in the pictures and Video of this hub is $149 new! You can sometimes find it on Ebay, although if you do find a black handled one it can sometimes be worth a bit more than that! I have seen a like new condition one go for over $225.

These pans have quite a history and have been specially ordered by many wealthy and historic people including Jackie Kennedy. They are meant to heat evenly and season very nicely, similar to how cast iron does. The one I am featuring in this hub is an 8 inch pan, but they do make a 10 inch pan as well. They now make the pans in a high polished finish, a non stick finish, and a normal, standard finish. The one features is the classic standard finish which will season into a non stick pan.

This pan, like many other vintage cookware made of aluminum, can be found at thrift shops, tag sales, and rummage sales if you are lucky. They can be true hidden gems in the attics and basements in grandma's attic! If it is one thing you should take away from this hub it would be that if you ever see anything made of cast aluminum, you should probably take a closer look at it because it just may be worth quite a lot of money!

I hope you enjoyed this hub! If you liked it would you subscribe for more? Do you love treasure hunting, selling on Ebay, or just learning about cool vintage stuff?
