The Secret To Buffalo Chicken Wings
On October 30th 1964 one of the most important events in American history happened. Buffalo Chicken Wings were invented in the Anchor Bar in of all places Buffalo New York. It was the owner of the bar Teressa Belissimo that was faced with a huge amount of extra chicken wings and she had to come up with something to do with them.
She came up with the ideal of deep frying the wings and then she soaked them in melted butter and hot sauce. The secret of wonderful Buffalo Wings is the butter and the hot sauce and it really should be Tabasco Sauce. The other secret is to bread and deep fry your Buffalo Chicken Wings before you put the sauce on the wings. I like to buy the frozen chicken wing drum sticks and thaw and deep fry them. You can usually find the chicken wing drum sticks in bags in the supermarket frozen section.
Let your wing drum sticks thaw and then you want to start by thoroughly mixing 4 large eggs and a quart of butter milk in a bowl. Be sure that you mix it up very well.
Now in another bowl mix the below.
1. 2 Cups Self Rising Flour.
2. 1 Teaspoon Sea Salt.
3. 1 Teaspoon Black Pepper.
4. 1 Teaspoon Cajun Seasoning.
Mix the above ingredients together in a large bowl.
Take your thawed and well drained chicken wing drum sticks and place them into the butter milk mixture and then they go into the dry flour mixture. Shake them off well and then place them into a 350 degree deep fryer. Cook them until they are at an internal temperature of 180 degrees.
Now you want to have your Buffalo Wing Sauce waiting and when the wing drum sticks fried place them into a bowl and pour the below wing sauce in on top of your cooked Buffalo Wings and stir them around well to coat them well.
Wing Sauce Recipe
1. One Stick Butter.
2. One Tablespoon Fine Minced Garlic.
3. One Fourth Cup Tabasco Sauce.
4. Two Tablespoons Tomato Paste.
5. One Third Cup White Wine.
Place all the above ingredients into a small saucepan and almost bring to a boil but not quite and then remove the sauce pan from the heat. The sauce is now ready to be poured over your deep fried Buffalo Wings.
And now you know the secret to making the best Buffalo Wings you will ever taste and enjoy.
