Festivals are around the corner and I am sure you all must have geared yourself towards making different and innovative dishes for your family. Here , I bring a traditional Indian recipe which is a fusion of authenticity and modernity. I invented the dish when I had participated in a National level cooking competition. The dish was loved by celebrities and guests and left a mark on everyone. So here is this simple recipe which can be a treat to your taste buds . Kiwi koyla chicken ( kiwi and coal chicken ) is a unique combination which combines Indian spices with fruit and brings a blend of aroma and taste which you will never forget.

Cook time : 45 mints

Serves : 4

Ingredients:

  1. Boneless chicken : 1 kg

  2. Ginger garlic paste : 2 teaspoon

  3. Kiwi : 3 medium size

  4. Onion : 2 large

  5. Coal : one small piece

  6. Plain yogurt : half cup

  7. Garam masala : 2 teaspoon

  8. Coriander powder : 1 teaspoon

  9. Red chilli powder : according to taste

  10. Salt: according to taste

  11. Fresh cream

  12. Turmeric powder : 1 teaspoon

  13. Butter : 2 tablespoon

Procedure :

  • Marination : add yogurt , one teaspoon ginger garlic paste , salt and chilli powder to boneless chicken pieces. And keep half hour in fridge.

  • Cooking :

  • In a medium size pot add one tablespoon of butter/ oil and heat .

  • Then add chopped onions and cook till golden brown. Then add ginger garlic paste and cook for 30 seconds

  • Next add garam masala , chilli powder , coriander powder , turmeric powder and stir well.

  • Grind kiwis into a fine paste and add the paste into the pot . Cook for 5 mints then add little water and then add marinated chicken.

  • Cover the pot and cook for 15- 20 mints on medium flame. Open the lid and add salt.

  • Meanwhile on the gas stove cook the coal till it turns hot then with the help of tongs place the coal in a metal bowl on the pot and pour butter on top and this gives rise to smoke . Immediately cover the lid for 1 mint so that the coal’s flavor gets into the dish.

  • Remove the lid and add fresh cream.

  • Cook for 2 mints and then serve hot with plain rice or Indian bread.

This delicious chicken recipe will help you catch attention and is easy to make. When you will feed this dish to your loved one they are surely going to love it and you will get immense praise.A must try.
