If you really enjoy a wonderful picnic, you know as well as I do that no good meal is ever complete without one thing: dessert. Coming up with ideas for picnic desserts, though, can be tricky because you have to transport them to your picnic site. Plus, the hot weather may cause tasty desserts to melt. This is why you need to know about picnic desserts that are terrific for your outings outdoors with your family and friends. This article will give you three delicious picnic desserts made with chocolate for your next picnic for you to enjoy.

Picnic Desserts #1: Brownie Delight

Brownies are great desserts because they are easy to make and easy to carry. Plus, people love them (with good reason). You will need the following:

  • cup and 1 teaspoon of unsweetened cocoa
  • cup of melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • cup of white flour
  • cup of sugar
  • teaspoon of salt
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • cup of chopped walnuts (for topping; can also use M&Ms)
  • cup of chocolate chips (for an extra chocolate taste)
  • Small marshmallows (optional)

First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Take a pan that is about 8 inches square and spray it with non-stick spray. Stir your butter and cocoa together and add sugar. Stir in the eggs as well. Then, add the flour, vanilla, and salt, until flour is no longer visible. At this time you can add your marshmallows or chocolate chips to the mix by folding them. All you have to do now is bake for 22-25 minutes until brownies are done yet moist.

Picnic Desserts #2: Choconanachip Muffins

The name sounds weird, but these chocolate chip-banana muffins are absolutely delicious (and healthy).

  • 3 bananas (you want them to be quite ripened)
  • 1/3 cup of milk
  • cup of light brown sugar
  • cup of white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 3-4 tablespoons of chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cups of all-purpose flour

This recipe is pretty straightforward. After preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, take out your muffin tray. It is a good idea to put metal liners made of tin inside the cups. Be sure to spray them with non-stick too. Take out a bowl and use it to mix the baking soda, salt, and flour. Then, in a separate bowl, peel your bananas and mash them up with a spoon or fork. Then, take a whisk and use it to mix in the milk, both types of sugar, and egg. Combine these two mixtures and make sure they are fully mixed. At this time you should pour in the chocolate chips and "fold" them into the batter. Now all you have to do is pour the batter equally into your muffin tray and bake for 28-30 minutes until done.
