- 40 saltine crackers
- 1 cup butter
- 1cup brown sugar
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup chopped nuts
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees and line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Line saltine crackers in a single layer on the cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees on middle rack for 5 to 6 minutes or until you see bubbles. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave for about 1 minute then spread over crackers. Top with chopped nuts. Cool completely. Allow to cool completely.
- In a small pot combine sugar and butter and bring to a boil. Once mixture is at a boil, continue boiling for 3 minutes. Mixture should be a deep caramel color. Immediately pour over saltines and spread to cover crackers completely.
- Then place cookie sheet in fridge for approximately 30 minutes. (This allows foil to peel easily from saltines). Break into pieces and enjoy!
