Everyone in their lifetime has at least heard, if not eaten, a Tootsie Roll. They come in many shapes, sizes, and flavors, and are even embedded into lollipops. Learn about the history, products, and flavors of the Tootsie Company as we look closer at the products it makes and how it all began.

About The "Tootsie" Company

The Tootsie Company was started in New York in 1896, but now resides in Chicago. Leo Hirshfield founded and started the company in a small candy shop in New York using his confectioners background. He started creating oblong pieces of candy which sold for a penny a piece and were named after his daughter, Ciara, whose nickname was "Tootsie." In 1931, the introduction of Tootsie Pops were introduced. Over the years, the company has boomed and taken off, now producing 22 of the world's most favorite brands of candy.

Today, Tootsie Roll production exceeds 62 million pieces per day, with annual sales reaching nearly a half a billion dollars. Their products are listed below.

Tootsie Rolls are one of my favorite candies to eat (Vanilla and Cherry are the best!). For those of you who have never tried a Tootsie Roll, you don't know what you're missing! Thanks to the Tootsie Website and some knowledge i've obtained over the years, the Tootsie Company is recognized.
