Your Favorite Restaurant Meals Made In Your Own Kitchen

My wife and I recently were saving for a down payment on our new home, and had to significantly tighten our budget. My wife came across this recipe book online, while searching for restaurant recipes we could make at home (we both share the cooking responsibility for us and our three kids (they're 8, 6 and 4)). I was looking at the list of restaurants and the familiar dishes in the book, and immediately started searching for P.F. Chang's and The Cheesecake Factory (my two favorite restaurants). When I saw both of them in there, I said to my wife get that recipe book and let's give it a shot..

Spot On Taste, Couldn't Believe It..

Now, the first recipe I wanted to attack was P.F. Chang's Mongolian Beef.. This is my favorite dish of all time. Absolutely love it. My family loves it too.. In the P.F. Chang's restaurant near us, this dish goes for $15.75.. We were able to feed our entire family (5 of us) for about $14.00 (this is buying really good beef). Couldn't believe it, but the taste was spot on.. We loved it.. Took about 35 minutes to prepare..

Bonus Recipe Books

They also offer additional recipe books for specialty cooking.  This includes:  The Special Occasions Cookbook, Diabetic Delights, Good Ole Comfort Foods, The Grill Master's Guide to Grilling (HAVE USED THIS ONE ALOT..), Kid Approved Cookbook (AGAIN, HAVE USED THIS ONE ALOT..), and Secret Sauces Exposed.  Great quick recipes in these that really are easy to put together.  Really made the kids excited about dinner again (and the parents!).

Bonus Recipe Books - You'll Get Alot of Use Out of These..

The Personal Benefits of Cooking

If you have young children, I have found that by cooking and preparing meals, and involving your children in the activity, this really brings a family closer together. It also teaches your children to cook for themselves, be more confident and more self-reliant. Having a meal together at home, as we've all heard, keeps the family closer, and keeps the communication lines more open between you and your kids. There are so many positives to having meals together at home, that the often "Oh God" feeling of having to cook another meal makes it easier to digest.. And having these easy restaurant recipes can make it fun again!

Another set of books for me to spend my pitiful earnings on. I may be able to afford them by next year if I am lucky.

I love food, and am bored with the same old. This will give me a few new ideas.

Great hub and thank you for bringing resteraunt meals to the UK.

You need more than a great recipe, you need a person who enjoys being in the kitchen. I've never been much of a cook. There are specific dishes I love and have lots of practice making. But I'm not the cook that Mom is.

Nice Hub, but has anyone really cracked the secret of KFC original? Everyone knows that Msg is in it and maybe even Nutmeg but beyond that? It's still the world's best kept secret.
