For the ultimate breakfast burrito, you can either scramble the eggs or let them keep shape in an omelet form. It is your choice, really. For this ultimate breakfast burrito, it is advisable to use an assortment of seasonings and spices to flavor the eggs.

  1. Salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder and oregano are just examples of the spices that you can use.
  2. A generous amount of raw diced tomato can be used as a garnish on top of the eggs. (Be sure to wash the tomatoes well with water and pat them dry before dicing them with an appropriately sharpened knife.)
  3. This use of raw diced tomatoes also makes for an appetizing presentation of the ultimate breakfast burrito. That is not all, though.
  4. Adding the caramelized onions and the pork bacon slices are like icing on the cake.

Certainly, the concept of a breakfast burrito is nothing new. Many people prepare breakfast burritos at home or purchase breakfast burritos from restaurants but the contents of the breakfast burritos might be varying. For example, crumbled sausage might often be found in breakfast burritos. Additionally, the eggs will be a very popular component of a variety of the breakfast burritos.

The combination of ingredients in this particular ultimate breakfast burrito with bacon is very complementary.

Bacon, yummy

  • Often times, the directions on a package of raw bacon will state that the bacon slices are microwavable.
  • You can take two sturdy microwavable plates. Layer a few fresh and clean paper towels on one plate.
  • Then arrange several raw rinsed bacon slices on top of the paper towels on the plate.
  • If you had your package of bacon in the freezer, then make sure that you have given the package of raw bacon slices an opportunity to thaw thoroughly.
  • Cut open the package of completely thawed bacon with a pair of scissors. Remove the raw bacon slices from the packaging that is typically plastic packaging.
  • Rinse the bacon slices a bit with water to remove excess salt as well as to remove that slimy feeling of raw bacon just removed from the plastic packaging.
  • Then pat the bacon slices a little bit drier with paper towels and arrange the raw bacon slices side by side on the paper towel lined plate as before mentioned.
  • Using a big plate that is still small enough to fit into your microwave, you might readily be able to fit twelve to fourteen slices of the raw bacon side by side on the plate.
  • Next, with the use of a couple more paper towels, cover the arranged bacon slices on the paper towel lined plate.
  • Take the second plate and place it turned over on top of the other plate.
  • Then place those two plates that have the raw bacon slices sandwiched in between them and microwave on high for twelve to fourteen minutes. One minute of microwave heating per bacon slice that needs to be cooked is standard.

As we know, bacon can be very greasy. The paper towels can absorb the grease during the bacon cooking process in the microwave. Additionally, the second plate that sits on top of everything can help to prevent grease from splattering and prevent the interior of your microwave from getting too dirty. After the twelve to fourteen minute bacon microwave cooking process has ended, the covered plate of bacon will be very, very hot. Use caution. Allow the covered plate of now cooked bacon to continue sitting in the turned off microwave for a while, while cooling down a bit.

Breakfast Burrito

Well, this a breakfast burrito you will find to be extra tasty. It is simply delicious. I enjoy cooking this breakfast burrito relatively often. It is really good.

When the bacon in the microwave has cooled sufficiently, then remove that covered plate of now cooked bacon slices from the microwave oven. You might find that you still need an oven mitt to carefully remove the covered plate as it is still too warm to the touch with you bare hands. Set the covered plate of bacon slices aside, perhaps on top of a pot holder on the stove top or counter top. Now that the microwave oven is available for use again, each burrito wrap just needs to be slightly warmed, maybe just for 20 seconds or less per burrito in the microwave oven.

For this particular batch of ultimate breakfast burritos, I heated the burrito wraps on microwavable plates, one at a time for 15—20 seconds each. Optionally, for really rich added flavor and moistness, you can spread some Hellman's mayonnaise on the open burrito wrap. Then, the egg omelet can be added to the open warm burrito wrap. The diced tomatoes can be sprinkled on top of the egg omelet. Next, add the caramelized onion slices and cooked pork bacon slices.

When everything has been added to the burrito, then you are ready to wrap it up and it will be oh so good!

I enjoy eating at Mexican restaurants and I love burritos. My sons really enjoy burritos a lot as well. The concept of a breakfast burrito as opposed to just a lunch time burrito or dinner burrito is intriguing and fun for the little guys. My two little sons like to observe or get involved in the preparation of this breakfast burrito dish and it tastes best when it is nice and hot so they make sure to stick around to get first dibs.

THE BREAKFAST BURRITO

The bacon, eggs, fresh diced tomatoes and caramelized onions are just the perfect mouth-watering combination of delicious flavor to put inside of the warm burrito wrap.

We well know that many, many people just love to eat the bacon and eggs combination for breakfast but adding the diced tomatoes and caramelized onions proves to be very complementary indeed. Nobody can wait to dig in to this delicious breakfast burrito dish. If you use large burrito wraps like I did as opposed to small or medium sized, you can potentially cut each burrito in half if you find that to be more presentable for serving especially when serving the breakfast burrito to young children.

Certainly, a person that does not eat pork might want to substitute the bacon slices with something else. Some options can potentially include chicken strips or pieces of beef for example.

As an additional option for your ultimate breakfast burrito, you can have melted cheddar cheese, provolone cheese or another favorite type of cheese on top of your eggs in the burrito. In my humble opinion, fresh tasting and delicious cheese can make many different types of dishes taste even more delicious. For me, cheese is often an option. Like Steve Urkel used to say on the old family television sitcom, Family Matters, “have you got any cheese?” I often think of that comical line when preparing delicious cheesy main dinner dish, breakfast, lunch and side dish recipes. Yes, cheese is often an option! Keep in mind that if you add regular fat (not low fat) cheese to this already rich ultimate breakfast burrito with bacon, then fat and calorie content will surely increase but so will taste.
