Ultimate Homemade Pizza Recipe

HOMEMADE PIZZA RECIPE

Ultimate Homemade Pizza Recipe

Homemade pizza is not difficult to make if your family is craving homemade pizza. Just make sure that you have your pizza dough and some fine ingredients on hand at home for making the homemade pizza. You will especially want to have a nice selection of various delicious pizza toppings for your homemade pizza. Would you like to learn a simple way to make the ultimate homemade pizza?

With a generous assortment of tasty pizza toppings, a homemade pizza can be fantastic, so enjoyable! Shall we say ultimate?!

The kids are pretty fond of pizza in our household. They especially like New York Style Pizza that has a rather thin crust. The homemade pizzas that I make for them are more like pan style pizzas such as Chicago style or the pan style pizzas that you can get at the fast food chain pizzerias such as Pizza Hut.

This homemade pizza recipe that I will be describing in this recipe hub here on HubPages is fairly simple and the resulting pizza tastes very delicious! I think that you will find this homemade pizza to be very enjoyable.

Thanks for considering this ultimate homemade pizza recipe. I hope that you will enjoy making the ultimate homemade pizza and sharing it with your friends that you are entertaining and/or your family.

For this ultimate homemade pizza recipe, one important thing to look out for in your local supermarket is fresh pizza dough. Packaged and sold in large round balls for as little as $1 per package, pizza dough can readily be found in many supermarkets including Trader Joe’s and Harris Teeter.

These pizza doughs need to be kept refrigerated and can typically be found in a cold, refrigerated section near the deli section of the store where cold cuts such as turkey, roast beef and ham as well as cheeses are kept and submarine sandwiches are made for example. Most recently, for this ultimate homemade pizza recipe, I purchased the pizza dough balls at Harris Teeter supermarket.

Lots of fresh and delicious ingredients will make this ultimate homemade pizza very mouthwatering for you. Here are the ingredients that you will need to create the ultimate homemade pizza.:

  • Pizza dough
  • Tomato sauce
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Onions
  • Tomatoes
  • Green peppers
  • Chicken

While these ultimate homemade pizza ingredients above are what I used for this specific pizza as the photos included in this hub illustrate, the wonderful thing about pizza is that you can mix it up at any time, adding additional or less ingredients each time that you make the pizza.

In some ways, I was just using what I had on hand at home, but the next time that I plan to make ultimate homemade pizza, I will surely pick up some specific ingredients very intentionally while shopping in the supermarket. For example, I would be sure to purchase some mozzarella cheese specifically for the next time that I am making homemade pizza.

Additionally, for after the pizza is fully cooked, I would be sure to have parmesan cheese powder on hand to sprinkle on top of the cooked pizza. I would use this parmesan cheese in addition to garlic powder, crushed red pepper and oregano. I enjoy sprinkling all of these on my pizza.:

  • Parmesan cheese
  • Garlic powder
  • Crushed red pepper
  • Oregano

Here are the steps to take to make this enjoyable ultimate homemade pizza.:

Here are the steps to take to make this enjoyable ultimate homemade pizza.:

  1. Wash hands well with soap and water, and pat dry with paper towels. You may put on food handling gloves as well.
  2. Line a round baking pan such as a cake pan with foil and grease the foil with cooking oil such as canola oil. The use of foil really is preferred for faster clean up but in case you have no foil at all, not having purchased any at the supermarket in preparation, then without the use of foil, you can still grease the bottom of the round baking pan itself with the cooking oil and proceed to the next step.
  3. Remove the pizza dough from its packaging and put it in the round baking pan, whether or not the round baking pan has been lined with foil. Flatten the round pizza dough ball out and stretch it to better fit the circumference for the round baking pan. (See illustrative photos here in this hub, regarding the approximate size and shape of this ultimate homemade pizza, baked in a 9 inch round baking pan.)
  4. The next step for making this ultimate homemade pizza is to spread the tomato sauce on top of the pizza dough. Your choosing of a store bought tomato sauce that is of good quality and tasty is just fine. Most recently, I used Harris Teeter brand canned tomato sauce. This is an example of a good tomato sauce that you can use.
  5. Once you have spread a generous amount of tomato sauce, covering all of the pizza dough, then you can wash and chop up one of each of the following:
  • Tomato
  • Onion
  • Green pepper

6. Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees.

7. You can now add each topping, a little at a time, to the tomato sauce covered pizza dough in the round baking pan. Place the cheese first and then subsequently add the other selected toppings.

In this instance of making ultimate homemade pizza, I used leftover shreds of chicken meat from a whole chicken that I had roasted. You can of course use the meat of your choice such as

  • Sausage pieces
  • Pepperoni
  • Ham

or no meat at all, if you prefer.

8. When you have added all of your desired toppings on to your ultimate homemade pizza, then you can place then you can place the prepped pizza into the 350 degrees pre-heated oven for just 15-20 minutes. Keep an eye out as well as your sense of smell. Look out for potential burning or scorching. If the pizza crust is getting a little too brown for your liking, then turn off the oven and remove the pizza from the heat.

Again, cheddar cheese, chicken, chopped onion, tomato and green pepper are the toppings that I used in this ultimate homemade pizza example on this recipe hub. Nevertheless, for you, there will be lots of choices of toppings depending on your preference.

9. When you have removed the pizza from the oven, it will be ready to eat in no time. Of course you will want it to cool a little, but not too much. It is most delicious when hot and ready.

Enjoy your ultimate homemade pizza and thank you for considering this recipe! Children will especially enjoy this pizza and it is very economical to make. When cooking for your family, you can try variations of this recipe over and over again, every couple of weeks or so. It is a relatively simple and convenient pizza recipe
