Steaming momos

Heat a pressure cooker or a steamer. Grease the perforated plate with oil. Arrange the momos on the plate, keeping a little gap from one another. Steam for 6 minutes. If using a pressure cooker, don't use the weight. Transfer the momos to a serving bowl. Enjoy eating hot momos with schezwan sauce or with any home made sauce / dip.

Method to find out whether momos are cooked or not

Steam the momos for 6 minutes only. Increasing the cooking time may dry up the momos.

Once momos are done, they look shiny. This is the indication to stop cooking further.

How about a home cooked dip? A quick glance into the making of Tomato Dip at home

Soak 5 hot red chillies in water (the variety shown in the photo) for 8 hours. Discard the water. Take a mixer / blender, add 2-3 chopped tomatoes, red chillies, 4-5 garlic cloves, 1 inch ginger and salt. Grind it adding a little water to get a smooth, semi-solid paste. The dip consistency should be such that, it should evenly coat on the momos while eating. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl.
