Millions of people eat out every day. Some only eat out on the weekend or on special occasions. No matter when they eat out, it would be helpful to know about the two popular 24-hour chain restaurants that serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner around the clock.

Have you ever felt like eating late at night, but most of the restaurants were closed? There is good news for people who want to grab a bite after a concert or late movie even if it is 3 a.m. While very few restaurants are open late at night, there are some all-nighters. In this article, two of the best chain restaurants are listed. Feel free to eat at one or both of them when you are hungry late at night.

Waffle House and IHOP keep their restaurants open 24 hours, seven days a week to satisfy a craving at any time of the day or night. Therefore, when choosing between the two chains, customers usually base their decision on the location, food, atmosphere, service, or price.

Waffle House

You can always count on a Waffle House to be open. It is a chain that is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week even on major holidays when other restaurants are closed. A Waffle House is not hard to find in any city.

One thing that Waffle House does that most people don't know about is that the late-night chain prepares in advance for many storms. This is to make sure there are enough supplies available during emergencies. In fact, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Waffle House is one of the top four corporations, along with Walmart, Home Depot and Lowe's for disaster response. FEMA's measure of disaster recovery is known as the Waffle House Index.

Even though waffles are the most popular and profitable items on the 16-item menu, there are lunch and dinner items as well. Waffle House serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day. If you go with a group of people, one person at the table could be eating bacon and eggs. Another person could be eating a tuna sandwich. A third person could be eating a t-bone steak. No matter what taste a customer has, Waffle House is aimed to please for its dine-in only service.

Headquartered in Gwinnett Country, Georgia, the chain has more than 2,100 locations in 25 states in the country, but most of the locations are in the South. It was founded in 1955 in Atlanta, Georgia. Waffle House is a cultural icon because most people know about the chain because they are located along interstate highways or on major streets in cities.

IHOP

International House of Pancakes, commonly known as IHOP, is similar to Waffle House in many instances. However, some people prefer one over the other. Just like Waffle House, you can find an IHOP in most cities. It, too, is opened 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

The restaurant is described as a pancake house and a fast casual family restaurant. Even though the restaurant specializes in breakfast foods, customers can eat a well-balanced lunch and a full-course dinner at IHOP. The company has 1,650 locations in the United States, Canada and in the Middle East.

IHOP was founded July 7, 1958, and the restaurant chain is headquartered in Glendale, California with approximately 32,300 employees.

Which Do You Prefer?

Both Waffle House and IHOP have some of what customers want. Therefore, it might be hard to choose which restaurant to go to when people want to satisfy a hunger late at night. Because the two restaurants are so similar, people tend to go to the first one they see while driving late at night.

If you are with a group, IHOP is the better choice because it is a sit-down family styled restaurant. Waffle House has limited seating and sometimes customers have to wait to get a seat especially on holidays when other restaurants are closed.

Whether you choose Waffle House or IHOP, you are sure to get your hunger satisfied without spending a lot of money. If you really can't decide between the two restaurants, why not visit both of them on different occasions. You won't be disappointed.

Neither of them have food that I can eat, but I appreciate the details and the list of their differences.
