What to do with Chicken Cheese and Spinach Sausage
Recently, I acquired a 10 pack of these chicken sausages. They are
filled with feta, and spinach. I thought they were a great idea (also
free, so hurrah) until I realized I have NO idea what to cook them
with. So, I thought for a while, and here is what I came up with.
- Pizza: take the chicken out of the casings, crumble, and brown. I know, its going to be messy. So what? Then, take a pizza crust (jiffy is like 20 cents a box) and put Alfredo sauce on it. top with the chicken sausage, some onions, black olives, green pepper and mozzarella cheese. YUM
-Alfredo: slice the sausage into pieces and coat the outside with flour (so the cheese does not ooze out). pan fry, or fry them on a grill ( i like the grill) put on top of fettuccine noodles, Alfredo sauce, and more spinach!!!!!
-Bow tie pasta: cook up some bow-tie pasta. Drizzle with olive oil, and garlic salt. Mix in halved cherry tomatoes. Cook over medium heat just to warm everything together. Then toss in your grilled/ pan fried chicken sausage.
-Appetizer: Cook the chicken sausages whole. Then slice into rounds, and serve on mini tooth picks, or pretzels.
- Casserole: take a jar of Alfredo sauce and add spinach, garlic, salt, pepper, parsley, diced tomatoes (just a handful) and black olives. Cook over medium heat just to combine. Use this as your sauce. Make layers of sauce, lasagna noodles, sausage rounds, and cheese. Then put into your oven and cook until the noodles are done.
