World's Best Fried Chicken Recipe
Fried Chicken or Southern Fried Chicken is usually cut up pieces of chicken that is breaded and deep fried. And this recipe for fried chicken makes some of the most delicious fried chicken that you will ever eat.
I guarantee you that when your family or guests taste this fried chicken they are going to go Wow!. I have been making this delicious fried chicken all my life and over the years I have refined the recipe adding some ingredients and taking some ingredients away.
My Grandmother Hattie Propst was the first one to show me how to fry chicken and I've been working on developing the perfect fried chicken recipe for the last 50 years or so. But here I'm going to share what I consider to be the World's Best Recipe for Fried Chicken so you can make it today.
The real secret to this fried chicken is that you need to double bread your chicken. You will need to place each piece of chicken into the milk/egg mixture and then into the dry mix and then back into the milk/egg mixture and then back into the dry mix. And believe me double breading your chicken makes it the best in the world.
Chicken Breader Recipe.
1. 4 Cups Self Rising Flour.
2. 1 Envelope Dry Italian Dressing Mix.
3. 1 Teaspoon Salt.
4. 1 Teaspoon Black Pepper.
5. 1 Teaspoon Ground Cayenne Pepper.
6. 1 Teaspoon Dry Ground Sage.
7. 1 Teaspoon Cumin.
Mix all of the above 7 ingredients together in a gallon plastic bag. Shake very well to make sure all your ingredients are mixed together very well.
Milk / Egg Mixture Recipe
In a large plastic bowl add 8 large eggs and beat them very well with an electric hand mixer. Add in 2 quarts of whole milk and beat very well together.
Now you will want to have a whole fryer cut up for frying or you can use chicken thighs which taste wonderful when cooked in this wonderful chicken breading. Just be sure to follow the directions above and double bread each piece of chicken. Once you have all your chicken double breaded your going to want to place the breaded chicken on a tray or plates and cover and place in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before you fry your chicken in a 350 degree home deep fryer. Fry your chicken until your thickest pieces of chicken register 160 degrees on a meat thermometer. Be sure you insert your meat thermometer into the thickest part of the chicken.
Once you have fried your chicken you will want to drain your chicken well on paper towels.
