Yoshi Cooper Grill Mat

Updated on July 12, 2017

If you are like me, then you like to.... no, you love to grill. If I can make a meal on the grill then consider it done. I have tried numerous grilling techniques, styles and many other tricks to make my grilling less complicated. I am a charcoal grilling machine, so I rarely like to use gas which means one of the hardest things to deal with is flare ups. My dad and told me about a product get got as a gift. I have seen a few of these "grilling mats" on television, but never really took much interest in them.

I was over at the parents house and my sister and her family were coming over for dinner during the holiday of the Fourth of July. That means I am going to be grilling up some meats and things. And since my parents house, especially kitchen, are not finished from the recovery of the flood, the meal had to be done on the grill. Ok, challenged accepted. Little did I know I was about to try a product out that now I swear by, Yoshi Copper Grilling Mats.

The Menu

Fourth of July Menu:

- Hamburgers

- Hot Dogs

- Chicken Legs

- Boudin

- Green Onion Sausage

- Grilled Veggies

Alright, now one of the main items on this list I am not a fan of grilling mainly because of flare ups and grease fires, is hamburgers. I do love burgers, but I am not a fan of grilling them. My dad suggested that we use the Yoshi grilling mats. "Why not?" After all, if may cause the burgers not to flare up.

Well, to my amazement, the grill mats did that and much more. The burgers, as well as the rest of the meats, grilled up perfectly with no flare ups. The copper mats held the heat and kept the food grilling perfectly and evenly with grill marks as well. I was impressed. Another challenging thing to grill is Boudin. Because of its usual thin casing, it can tend to break open easily. It grilled up perfectly. I was impressed also with how the non-stick surface really held up its own. It was easy to flip the burgers without having to scrap off a portion off. And the veggies cooked so good too.

After we were done grilling, the creative juices starting flowing and I started creating new menu ideas and thought about all the possibilities that you could do on the grill with this product. You could also cook a nice breakfast on these mats as well. From someone who knows his way around a grill, this product is one grill enthusiast will have to buy and own. Such a great product and still the satisfaction of grilling flavor and marks.

Blond Logic they will probably be cheaper too. I hope they work out. I just did some ribs and chicken the other day on them and it worked like a charm. Thank you for the comment.

We have a great bbq but, the bars are really far apart. My husband wanted to have a metal grill made but these mats sound like a better option.

Everyone barbeques here in Brazil and it is something of an art form. I need to expand the repertoire to include more veggies on skewers and burgers. We usually have chicken, beef, lamb, or fish.

These are a great idea, thanks for the tip.

No problem Larry. It does great to prevent flare ups. Depending on how big your grill is, you may need to get the two pack to cover the grill surface. Thanks for stopping by my friend.

We here in Australia also love to grill only we call it BBQing. I have a flat plate on mine but I could see myself using this at one of those outdoor grills they have at local beaches to save mess and also save cleaning. Cheers for the tip.
