Yummy Simple Chicken Recipe

Updated on November 13, 2008

Red Hot Chicken Strips

We're spicy food lovers, and we're always looking for a new recipe to try out. This one is my adaptation from one of our favourite restaurants in Edmonton, 'The Louisiana Purchase'. It's really simple to prepare and cook.

Red Hot Chicken Strips

1 1/2 lbs of chicken tenders, or chicken breast cut into 1 inch strips, with the grain. You don't want them to fall apart.

Your favourite hot sauce - I use Louisiana Hot Sauce, with a little extra zing of Tabasco or for a different flavour, chipotle sauce.

Marinate the chicken in the hot sauce, in the fridge, for at least 2 hours. Make sure you use enough to thoroughly coat it.

Spread the strips out on your broiler pan and broil til cooked through - about 5 to 8 minutes. If you use convection broil, they'll cook faster and will be crispier.

Serve with rice and stirfried veggies.

Optionally, these are great as an appetizer or wrapped in a warm flour tortilla, along with lightly stirfried onion and pepper strips.
