Pizza Poetry

I love pizza, so I wrote this poetry for the pizza lover like me and you. Join me on an exploration of the World of Pizza through original poems about pizza!

A pizza is either square or round

And covered with tomato sauce or oil

Upon it typically cheeses are found

Plus fresh veggies raised in fertile soil

Pepperoni and sausage are usual meats

Though I prefer a New York cheese slice

Folded in half and dripping with cheese

With extra oregano; Oh that's nice

Any way you slice the pie

A pizza's simplicity is beauty to the eye

Mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce

Or white basil pesto, your choice of course

Toss it high and watch it spin

Catch it on your knuckles and grin

I heard sultry Italian tunes

From the pizza parlor on my block

Dino, Frankie talking of moons

Sometimes they'd switch the radio to rock

Aromas of garlic and oregano

Wafted down the street

At least once a week I would go

And buy a yummy slice to eat

In those days a coke was nice

With the slice as part of the deal

And then I'd lick an Italian ice

Cool and sweet to end the meal

Why Not Crack an Egg on Your Pizza

In Italy and France I tasted something new

Pizza with a raw egg cracked on top

It was a little gooey & not cooked through

But you could use some crust to sop

It takes skill to flip the pie

Rotating dough towards the sky

Can't let it stick to your knuckles

As you receive oohs and chuckles
