Spooky Drinks From the Cauldron
What's a party without punch? Halloween punch gives you another great excuse to bring out the dry ice, cob webs and plastic spiders. I mean, really, when else are you gonna get to use all that stuff you couldn't resist at the dollar store? Get in the Halloween spirit. Your ghosts and ghouls will love these drinks made from rum, vodka and almost anything else you can think of.
I hope you enjoy these recipes that I've collected. As always, drink responsibly and stay safe. No broomstick riding while inebriated.

Bloody Black Currant Punch
1 1/4 cups brandy
1/4 cup sugar
4 cups black currant nectar
1 1/2 cups cold seltzer
Stir brandy and sugar in a large bowl. Add nectar; stir to combine. Refrigerate until cold, about 1 hour. Punch can be refrigerated in an airtight container up to 3 days. Add seltzer just before serving.
Black Death Punch
1 two-liter bottle of ginger-ale or Sprite
1 packet of black cherry Kool-Aid
1 12 oz of frozen berries (a mix of strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries), thawed
1/2 of a 750 ml bottle of Dekuyper's Pomegranate liqueur (substitute raspberry liqueur or blackberry schnapps.)
5 cups of clear rum or vodka
1 packet of Pop Rocks Candy, for special effects (optional)
Chill all the ingredients (except Pop Rocks) before beginning. For the "scabs," mash berries using a potato masher or process in a blender for 30 seconds. Combine ginger ale, cherry Kool-Aid, berries and alcohol in a punch bowl. Pour in the Pop Rocks-they will make the punch snap, crackle and pop for the next several minutes!
Creepy Crawler Punch
4 cups of White Rum
4 cups of Maui Blue Hawaiian Schnapps
1 gallon of Orange Juice
Combine ingredients in a large punch bowl with an ice ring* in the center.
*Arrange gummy worms in bottom of 5-cup ring mold; fill mold with ice. Freeze until solid, 8 hours or overnight.
Dragon's Blood Punch
1 750 ml bottle vodka
1/2 cup orange liqueur
6 cups (48 oz.) red fruit punch punch
6 cups apple juice
6 cups cranberry juice*
2 liters ginger ale.
Chill all ingredients the day before. An hour before serving, combine everything in a punch bowl. A large soup pot will do in a pinch. Stir well and ad ice. We recommend using a block of ice as it will melt slower than cubes. It also looks cool. The icy hand is a great way to introduce ice.
*6 cups is approximately 1 can/bottle of juice
Halloween Harvest Punch
1 part Midori Melon Liqueur
1 part Dark Rum
1 part Light Rum
2 part White Cranberry Juice
1 part Unfiltered Apple Juice
1 part Simple Syrup
Juice of one lemon
apple slices, blueberries and melon balls for garnish
*For a Punch Bowl (32 ounces) use this recipe X’s 8. Add the liquid ingredients and mix well. Top with apple slices, blueberries, and melon balls. For an individual cocktail: shake and strain into an old-fashioned glass.
Icy Hand Halloween Punch
1 750 ml bottle premium Vodka or White Rum
2 2 liter bottles of Lemon Lime Soda - make sure to get a clear brand
red food coloring
Chill the Vodka (in the freezer) and Soda (in the fridge) for at least 24 hours. Just before the party combine the two liquids in a large punch bowl. Add a few drops of the red food coloring to make it blood red, well maybe more than a few drops. Add one of your icy hands* in the center of the bowl, throw in the marshmallows and squirt some more food coloring over all of it for extra bloodiness.
*Take 2 (always good to have an extra hand) latex gloves, put them on and wash your hands with dish soap. Rinse well and turn the glove inside out so the just washed side is on the inside. Next, fill the gloves with water, tie the end and freeze. Once frozen remove the glove and you are good to go.
5 oz. Rittenhouse 100 Rye
2 oz. Domaine de Canton
2 oz. 42 Below Manuka Honey
14 oz. orange oolong tea
1 Â½ oz. vanilla sugar
4 oz. fresh orange juice
1 oz. lemon juice
3 pieces orange peel
Place sugar in punch bowl. Add orange peel and muddle to release oils. Add tea while still hot to dilute sugar. Add remaining ingredients, stir & finish with large cubes of ice. Garnish with slices of oranges and lemons or small wedges of green apple.
Wicked Witch Apple Punch
1 750 ml bottle SKYY Infusions Passion Fruit
1 750 ml bottle Sparkling Apple Cider
1 64 oz. bottle Cranberry Juice Cocktail
1 Liter Ginger Ale
2 cups Pineapple Juice
Red Apple Slices
Combine all ingredients in a large black witch’s cauldron with ice and stir. Garnish with large slices of red apple floating on top and dry ice
The Vampire's Delight
8 ounces pineapple juice
8 ounces raspberry liqueur
8 ounces cachaca
Mix all ingredients in a large punch bowl. Add ice and serve.
