As more and more produce is imported from foreign countries more outbreaks of food-borne illness are being reported. Many of these are related to E coli. The same E coli that is found often in hamburger.
E Coli is also now showing up in fresh produce here in the United States.
In one instance more than 245 people became sick with E coli after eating infected cantaloupe. Keep in mind that more than 70 percent of all produce is now imported from third world countries.
