   What kinds of cookware do you prefer? Teflon, steel/copper, cast iron, or aluminum based alloys?
   
   There are a great many different types of cookware available to consumers. What kinds of cookware do you prefer and what do you use it for? For example, I have a copper bottomed stainless steel pot that I like to cook sauce in but I also prefer cast iron for frying, etc.

   Cast iron, that is, if I could afford it. Teflon is good for simple frying (like eggs). I have to say I don't like aluminium.

   I use teflon cookware because of the propensity to save calories because fat is not needed on the non stick cookwear.

   I love cast iron for most cooking and have been using the same cast iron cookware for 30+ years. I also use stainless steel for boiling pasta or vegetables.

   I chose enameled cast iron cookware when I married and wouldn't trade it for anything.  I also inherited a few cast-iron skillets from my grandmothers that are slicker than any non-stick pan you could buy--priceless!

   Cast iron and stainless steel - heard aluminum and some of the other non-stick skillets are bad for you.

   I have a stainless steal cookware set for boiling water, making sauces, etc.  However, our favorite cookware pieces are all cast iron - from my husband's grandmother's seasoned cast iron frying pans to our favorite cast iron wok.  Cast iron is fabulous for stir-frying and baking too!  We like to clean our cast iron with salt and a scouring pad... works like a charm.

   I really love my cast iron (the black kind) and enameled cast iron.  I have other pots and pans, but really like the cast iron best.  I don't like any kind of nonstick.  If you season the cast iron well, you don't need to use nonstick.

    Aluminium cookware is the most commonly used but are not very good for health. Aluminium oxide is harmful for health and it is said to be one of the reasons for Alzheimer's disease. Copper or Bras utensils are okay for cooking or boiling simple foods which do not contain anything sour. Tomatoes, Lemon, Vinegar etc cannot be cooked in Copper or brass vessels. Copper or brass vessels are best for preparation of tea or for boiling milk.Tea prepared in a copper or brass vessel gives us tolerable amounts of zinc and copper which are good for the nervous system. Iron cookware is good  as long as it is properly taken care of. After washing and cleaning they should be quickly dried by wiping and should be protected from rusting by applying some kind of edible oil.
