Any suggestions  for making green beans more appealing?

Even though I love most vegetables, these are my least favorite so would love some ideas for spicing them up!!

All I know is that kids, though they don't realize, will eat green beans when they are hot and have butter, real butter, added and melted with them.
So, drain the beans if you are using canned, heat them, then when they are good and hot, add several tablespoons butter, and toss to melt and coat. Yum!

We use onions in our green beans.  We also use butter when in them.  If using canned beans, we cook them until they are almost completely dry.

With fresh beans we like cooking them with potatoes also, preferably new potatoes fresh from the garden with about half a pound of bacon.

Hi Suzie, I've got three thoughts on this one.

    1. Take a fine black felt tip pen. Draw curly hair and happy smiley faces on them.

    2. Take 1 cucumber and several hundred beans. Superglue beans to cucumber,     spray yellow and pass off as mega corn on the cob.

    3. Drop 1 bean in each ice cube holder and freeze. Wait till party is tanked up and then start to serve in drinks. Everybody will think it's some new sorta "dead worn tequila" and swallow the lot.

Just a few thoughts. I have many more, it just depends how many "beans" you need to get rid of,

    MJ.

Ha! Brilliant or Barmy or both!!!! Like your alternative thinking! Corn on the cob works for me although the tequilla idea very interesting!! Glad to see the Irish humor is alive and well!!! lol

My husband and I love green beans dolled up with melted butter (or margarine--they make some pretty reasonable butter-tasting ones these days...), and sprinkled with garlic pepper or lemon pepper.
Watch the salt content of those if you're on a sodium-restricted diet.  They are available in salt-free forms, but you have to read the labels.
You can also just add a squeeze of fresh lemon to them with the butter and plain pepper, if you don't have the lemon pepper, and you can also crush fresh garlic and add that.
Fresh is always better than canned anyway.
    Best wishes.

I would steam them and top with melted butter, sea salt and a bit of seasoned rice vinegar. Add to stir fried zuchinni, summer squash and red bell pepper all sprinkled with bits of bacon.
    everything tastes better with bacon!!!

I like to add black pepper, crushed red peppers, salt, and onion. I'm not much on eating vegetables, but this makes me go back for seconds!
