Absolutely it will not solve the hunger issues.
I farm in different countries and while I read a comment in this other thread I have to disagree to a bit with what was said regarding the government keeping people in poverty.
I have seen all too many times where yes the government politics plays a role in this poverty all to often I find locals at times to lack motivation and wait for the government to bail them out. The same government they complain about they want help from.
From personal motivating locals to work in these said countries that are bad is often a challenge.
I can see vertical farming being a great addition in modernized countries. In most of third world countries most individuals in the remote parts of those countries all have gardens or small farms for their food.
I do agree there are some countries with challenges to overcome the politics but it can be done and the hunger issue can be solved.
If we want to solve some of the hunger issues we need to start with proper education for the people.
