For convenience (and to save my purse!) I often eat home-cooked food. Whether packet rice and fresh pasta parcels bought from the local supermarket qualifies as home-cooked food is another question; all I do is heat the darned things up! I can cook very well, however, and sometimes do meals such as chilli con carne or shepherd's pie. I use the recipes that my Mum used (and still uses) when I was a child so my food now tastes just as good as hers does.
I only eat at restaurants for special occasions such as birthdays, Christmas or to celebrate a new job etc. When I do go out to get a cooked meal, I prefer going to a slightly more expensive restaurant than a pub or a bistro. It is largely true that you get what you pay for in this world!
