   Has anyone else noticed increased energy after going gluten free?
   
   I stopped eating gluten about 2-3 weeks ago.  I have been under dr care for some issues and gluten is the latest thing subtracted from my diet.  After feeling fatigued and exhausting, barely functioning the last few months, yesterday I woke up with so much energy.  We walked around a mall several times while we waited for car repairs.  And then today I woke up again with just as much energy.  I cleaned the kitchen including cupboards, made breakfast, washed the dogs, scrubbed the bathroom, and mopped the entire downstairs.  I finally took a break, and then cleaned some more.

   Wow no I have never been on a gluten free diet but either I am going to or move next door to you...in case you run out of chores! lol
   Sounds really great, I imagine it is that. Probably why people use to live hundreds of years and now lucky to see the backside of 100.

      I had gallbladder surgery this past spring.  And I've had numerous other issues.  My doctor has me on Nexium and I thought I would try to go gluten free with my symptoms being close to that of gluten intolerant.

      Good luck with the Nexium, I was able to take it awhile and then it started making me have this bloated feeling, painfully so. But I was OK once I quit it so nothing to worry about.

   That is great that your energy level has increased so much! I've seriously considered gluten free diets especially for my older son who struggles with focus issues but after researching it I found I am pretty close to serving a gluten free diet. We eat mostly fresh fruits, dried fruits, veggies, eggs, and meat with very little starch or processed food. I'm not sure where dairy falls in that diet, we do drink a lot of skim milk and eat yogurt.
   I hope this continues to be so successful for you!

      Thank you Heather!  My son is lactose intolerant.  We have cut down the gluten in his diet as well.  His therapist recommended omega 3 supplements.  I've also recently started substituting homemade trail mix in lieu of chips and junky snacks.

   Hi Crafty:
   So glad to hear you have increased energy after going gluten free. I have been gluten free for around three years and have never felt healthier in my life. After many years of misdiagnosis, joint pain, stomach pain, and general malaise, an osteopath suggested I might be gluten intolerant. I, too, felt 100% more energized within two weeks after going 100% gluten free. I thought it was impossible and I waited patiently for things to go back to the way they were for many years with the joint pain and other ailments. Not so! If you remain 100% gluten free, you too will continue to feel better and better. I was never able to run; too much joint pain. I can now run three miles in my Vibrams with no pain at all. I could not even chew gum; too much jaw pain (TMJ.) I am an expert gum chewer these days. Good luck to you and keep it up!
