Hi, i don't know if your still wanting an English Dumpling Recipe here's the one I use that make lovely big light Dumplings.....
3oz of SUET
6OZ SELF RAISING FLOUR
About 20 minutes before the Stew/Casserole is due to be taken out of the oven mix all the ingredients for the Dumpling mix together.
With WET HANDS form the sticky dough into Dumpling shapes, then place on top of your Stew/Casserole.
Leave uncovered and place back into the oven,turning the heat up slightly to Gas 6/450 f/220 C, the Stew will thicken and the Dumplings will plump up and crisp on top
