What is your favorite comfort food?

Many of us have the cold moving into our areas; some with snow and just calling for some comfort foods. I love homemade chili and soups; both with home baked bread and today I made my own chicken corn chowder and it was so good! What do you look forward to for comfort food? (image-zamserve.co.za)

I know what you mean Paula and that is what cold weather does to me. I sit around dreaming what I can fix up next! I always try to make my labor worth it and fix enough for leftovers! lol

That's an interesting pick. Bob. I guess I think of winter as a time for comfort food and I love meatloaf too...only year round!

I never think of chocolate as comfort food but since I always crave and have to have it; then maybe it is!

I like the rice..not too keen on potatoes...unless they are chips loaded with fat and dipped into sour cheese! lol I do try to stay away from those. Merry Christmas! Thank you!

Those all sound great. I guess I only really allow myself to indulge in winter months is why I lean toward winter fixings like chili ans soup but yeah I can smell that beef roasting and chicken noodle soup simmering!

I know I have been wanting to make some so bad! I always make a huge pot and let about 3 quarts seal in jars to have later. I use light kidney and pinto beans. I love Wendys so I make it much like theirs but put more in it.

Thanks for sharing that Rachel. I was sure it would be one of your delicious recipes on HP so surprised but yes that can be a very good treat (really soft!). I use nothing but real butter and I would have to have jelly! lol

Haha. Well it doesn't take much talking about the comfort foods to make us ready for them!

I love a vegetable beef soup like my mother-in-law use to make & it has just everything in it & a tinge of a kick from crushed red peppers; but yes the teas are great too at night & glad you reminded me so I can start enjoying those like
