Is there a potato best for potato salad? I more often use russet potatoes that are good for baking since I bake them often so I had never really thought about a best kind for potato salad but wondered if maybe a nice gold or red potato might be best? Any advice appreciated! (Image- virginiabloggers.com)

I bet those are good in potato salad! So glad I asked. I do like my potatoes cut smaller than many fix them but I don't want mush! I am trying a new dressing in mine with mayo and salad dressing and look forward to it!
Jackie - Look on my page for "a healthier potato salad" (if you are interested). It uses fresh lemon in lieu of mayonnaise.
I did not know that so thank you June! I would have assumed russets were harder and no idea why so I have learned a great lesson!
Never heard of those; will have to check out. Thanks peachy!
I will remember your credentials Anne and take you at your word. Thanks!
Thanks Rachel; I am going to use the gold next time! Can't wait to see the difference. You just get hung up on doing something the same way and having a change should make it much more fun and flavorful!
