What an interesting question. I don't know what the initial draw to food was, but it seems to have been something I've been interested in all my life. I can remember pulling out cookbooks at a very young age, I would bake and cook anything I thought was interesting. It never occurred to me that I might be attempting something too difficult for my age. If we didn't have the ingredients, I would substitute or jump on my bike and head to the store. Saturday morning cooking shows on PBS were the highlight of my week!
