What's your favorite kind of soup to make at home?

I've recently discovered the joys of homemade soup -- the smell while it's on the stove, the leftovers, etc. -- so I'm looking for new soup recipes to try.  Any recommendations are welcome!

I like 15 bean soup. I throw 4 carrots, 3 potatoes, 3 celery sticks, 1/2 onion, a clove of garlic, ham, and salt into a large pot with the beans and water (I don't measure the water, I just need enough to cover the ingredients). I don't measure the salt either, but it comes out good every time. You just have to salt to your liking. Beans are easy and cheap, and I think they taste good. It's so stinky and good, and usually last me about 5 days.

I like "Pizza Soup", that has diced tomatoes, pepperoni, spices, pasta, and a bit of shredded cheese on top. It's really delicious, and warms you up on a winter day. You can add other favourite pizza ingredients too, like sliced mushrooms, peppers, and black olives -- make a different version every time.

Stewed Madness is my personal favorite, It doesn't always turn out very good, but it's fun to make.  It's a bit like back in elementary school when kids dared you to eat this with that.  You just take the contents of your fridge on leftover night and attempt to make a brand new concoction that won't make you toss your cookies.  Best to make with a friend and some goggles.

A favorite soup includes broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, celery, chick peas, lima beans, green split peas, red onions, and water chestnuts. Spices may vary but I always add black pepper, granulated garlic, paprika, and turmeric.

My favorite soup is a recipe I made up. It is a potato and fish, clam chowder. With celery, onion, cream of mushroom soup, and lots of cilantro in it.  If it is two thick then put some low fat milk in it to thin it down. Also add some clam juice that comes in a bottle.  I also put crushed hot peppers in it and also white pepper to taste.  I don't put any salt in it because the fish gives it enough of a salty taste .  I use 2 cans of minced clams, 1 can of pink Salmon and 1 can of Mackerel and 1/2 pkg of the fake crab.  I peel and cut up the potatoes in small pieces and boil them with 3 stalks of celery cut up also.  Don't over cook them. Then I add 2 large cans of cream of mushroom soup, stir, pour in fish, if too thick use some milk to thin.  Stir easily as not to break up the fish to much, except for the Mackerel, it needs to be broke up a little.  Hope you like it.  It is my favorite!!!
